If you travel to Zhangjiajie or Zhangjiajie West train station there are buses that'll take you to Wulingyuan. They start running at around 7:30. Don't get scammed by expensive taxi drivers. Then it's a short walk to the hostel from the Wulingyuan bus station. You can contact the owner of the hostel beforehand and he'll let you know how to get to the hostel. Download WeChat so that you can communicate easily without using VPN. Also, download Amap (works with WeChat location and doesn't need VPN to run). The receptionists are so lovely and welcoming! We stayed in a private double room and it was amazing. The bed was so soft and comfortable and the room was really clean. We really enjoyed our stay here!

The hostel is about a 10 minute walk from the Wulingyuan enterance of the Zhangjiajie National Park - a fantastic location even for lodging that would cost several times more per night! The hostel and facilities are clean throughout. The host provided valuable info through WeChat, particularly on weather conditions in the park that affected transportation options within the park. Great value for your money given the comfort, cleanliness, and superb location! Just one note: make sure you can use Alipay - you can only pay for the laundry machine using Alipay.

There is also a shared lounge where guests can watch TV. Where to start? The decor was cool and traditional, it’s in a perfect location- close to some places to eat and buy snacks and such, but a quiet place to have peace. Walking distance to the park, the bus station, and anything you need. The breakfast was absolutely delicious- they know I loved it so much hahaha! They upgraded my room to a private room since it was low season and no one else was in the hostel. The private room had a heater which was soooo nice, the bathroom was great and the bed was so comfortable. Most of all, I loved the staff. The owner and Emer, the woman currently working there, made me feel at home. They were so generous with me. From deep conversations, eating together, having tea together, laughing together, hiking together, buying snacks together, every moment felt natural and bliss and I leave knowing this was the best part of my trip in China. Emer helped me plan my whole week and book my tickets for the week as well as my future trains! I couldn’t have asked for a better week in Zhangjiajie, and I will miss them dearly. If you can, get a custom piece of traditional writing from the owner! I did, and I can’t wait to display it in my home. Thank you for everything!!! No words can express my gratitude!
