A destination hotel. We stayed just one evening and that probably isn't the best way to enjoy this property. There are fantastic views, make sure you climb the hill and enjoy the view from the top.
In a magnificent baronial-style mansion, Ardanaiseig Hotel offers 240 acres of wooded grounds, a restaurant and elegant rooms. The hotel is located in Kilchrenan, on the banks of Loch Awe.

My wife and I spent two nights here with another couple the building is beautiful the grounds are a little overgrown but really special. The occomodations and staffing were superb, but don't go here expecting all the amenities of a brand new shiny hotel. Part of the character is the furnishings which are a bit older and have some wear and tear, but the staff is great, and the food and drink offerings were great as well
A Victorian Hotel built between 1865 and 1901, the Columba Hotel overlooks the town of Oban and Oban Bay. It has a 24-hour front desk, a traditional restaurant and 2 bars.

The property was way to find and in a great location by the water. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well kept with a lovely view
With a traditional bar and restaurant, The Scot offers continental breakfasts and free Wi-Fi. Located in Oban center, the hotel is a 2-minute walk from the seafront and Oban Ferry Terminal.
Overlooking Loch Etive, the Falls of Lora Hotel is a 19th century property with an a la carte restaurant, there is free WiFi access available throughout , a bar and free on-site parking.
This property is an 18 minute walk from the beach. Located less than 10 minutes' walk from Oban's famous McCaig's Tower, The Ranald Hotel is set in the heart of Oban town center and just off the main...
Great location. Hotel upgraded us to a loch view. Breakfast was super. Views from hotel fabulous. Staff were outstanding in all areas. Good selection of drinks at bar. Evening fire pits a great added bonus.

Jordan and Jane at Ardanaseig Hotel were excellent hosts.
Jordan and Jane at Ardanaseig Hotel were excellent hosts. They were very knowledgeable about the area, the food and where it was sourced.
Nothing was too much bother for them.
Chef was wonderfully creative in the kitchen and produced a carefully planned menu of excellent food.

Everyone working there were professional and friendly.
Everyone working there were professional and friendly. The hotel was spotless and showed the benefits of a recent refurb. We ate in the hotel the first night and the food was of a very high standard. Our room was in the newer wing (Room Fyne).. there are four rooms in a line with wonderful views over the loch... and I believe these rooms are slightly bigger than those in the older wing.
The rooms, restaurant, bar and lounge were spotless. We had a minor issue with plumbing (the shower temp was cool), were told that they had reduced the water pressure to our room and that would be remedied asap.
There is a full size snooker table in its own lounge that we may use the next time.
On our next night and at the suggestion of the hotel manager, we ate at the Kilchrenan Inn ( 5 mins drive from the hotel; you have to book as it is very popular). They just don't now how good they are. It was one of the nicest meals we have every had in Scotland. We could have chosen every option as the menu was so varied!
All in all, a huge surprise and an excellent stay at the Taychreggan hotel. Many thanks.

This is a very comfortable hotel with good rooms, friendly and efficient staff. The hotel has a beautiful location on the shores of Loch Awe.
We ate in the hotel each night; food was very good.
Kilchrenan is located some miles down a single track road; this means that each time you go out sightseeing you initially have to use this road.
In this part of Argyll there are many outdoor things to see and do such as hill walking, visits to Oban and elsewhere.

As I have communicated already to you, when we arrived , after booking some 8 weeks before, we discovered that no booking had been made and that there was no room in the hotel for us. This reflects extremely badly on your company , we wish you to organise a new date for us to visit the hotel at no cost to ourselves except for food and drink
For the start it seems like an adventure, we arrived late night and drove the many miles down single lane roads. As mentioned in other reviews the feeling of getting lost is real. Then you drive through the gates to find a real hidden treasure. Host had left the main door open for us and a lovely welcoming note to help us find our room. Waking up you get the opportunity to find out some of the history while having a nice breakfast, take a few moments to look closer to the painting’s!. A walk in the grounds is also highly recommended.
The location is second to none, being directly on the Loch side with spectacular views. Overall, the hotel was welcoming and peaceful. With only 16 rooms, at times it felt as if we had the whole hotel to ourselves. The room was amazing value for money, very comfortable with a large 4 poster bed and huge jacuzzi bath. The dinner and breakfast were both of a very high standard. This is a hidden gem and we have already booked for later in the year.
Everything was great, but highlights were the views, the walks in the gorgeous (if a little tired) grounds (which adds to the character) and the wonderful bar and food at dinner and breakfast showed off the skills of an accomplished kitchen staff. Everyone of the people who work at Ardanaiseig are determined to make the guests' stay a happy one, making useful suggestions about tourist routes and pointing out not to be missed features of the region.

Outstanding experience! By far our favorite place that we’ve stayed in Scotland during our 2 weeks trip. Truly an experience, not just a hotel. Maxime, who works there, went above and beyond to make our stay even better than it already was. Gorgeous property surrounded by a beautiful nature! Saw 2 baby deers while driving in 😍. Restaurant food (both breakfast and dinner) were great too!
Stayed last year and had to make a return visit this year. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully furnished. Views of the loch are spectacular. It is a sanctuary of peace and tranquillity. The service is very friendly and attentive. A delicious Breakfast menu is served in the lovely dining overlooking Loch Awe. We are definitely planning another visit.
Wonderful location and Hotel. Nothing is any bother, everyone is very friendly and welcoming .We visited with our dog and he is as special a guest as we were.Given a room with easy access to the grounds as requested Happy memories and would not hesitate in going back.
The hotel is located on a beautiful property at the end of a secluded country road. The flowering trees and rhododendrons were absolutely stunning. It’s very quiet and peaceful. The hotel itself has an amazing history and it’s very comfortable.
Beautiful location, next to a lake. The staff is very friendly, and service oriented. Very dog friendly place, here you get value for your money what you pay for the dogs. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic, best sticky pudding,
Location was superb, the staff were attentive and helpful, the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent, the rooms were clean and spacious.
After being let down by another hotel, the Taychreggan provided a superb stay.

Fantastic location with views to surrounding hills and the loch. Beautiful vast gardens for exploring. The staff was friendly and the hotel has a lot of character. A very special experience.
Very good hotel in a stunning location, staff very friendly, helpful and had a good knowledge of the area, great place to relax, unwind and enjoy a good selection of Whiskies.
The off the beaten track, beautiful Ardanaisig Hotel nestled on 240 Acres with a beautiful view of a loch and mountains is breathtaking. A wonderful country hotel.
On arrival we got given a room upgrade thanks to Michele. The fine dining menu and meal was fantastic and the views superb was a nice finish to our road trip ,
