Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I loved all the bright colors and how it’s not the typical hotel design. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It’s my second time ever staying in a tru hotel. Another great experience.

The only thing I wish they had a small microwave in the rooms.
The location was great a lot of the places we wanted to go to were within 15-20 minutes from the hotel. The kids loved the lobby area. They were able to play on the pool table and games in the sitting area.

There really wasn't anything wrong with our stay
We have stayed at this Tru before. It’s now our go to when in Cincinnati. Very clean, friendly staff, breakfast is sufficient, price is right.

Wish we could have had the option to upgrade room as we had 3 adults sharing 1 king bed. No cots available either so definitely a downfall.
Best hotel I have ever stayed at. Very up to date, beautiful lobby, great rooms, lots of activities in the hotel (pool, gym, lobby games, etc). Hotel is in a very nice area where we felt very comfortable and safe.

Only thing that was a small issue was a pet fee ($75) that was not mentioned or listed when booking. A heads up of that would have been preferred.

Beds weren't very comfortable. Room is very small. Walls are super thin so you can hear so much noise from beside and above you.

Amazing hotel!! Everything is brand-new & modern! The rooms were fantastic and squeaky clean! We got two adjoining rooms, which was perfect. There was a pool and fitness centre - which was great after a long day of driving. Breakfast was good too! Staff super nice and quick! Restaurants close by. Loved our stay!

Very confusing check out procedure. Large damage deposit. There seemed to be three steps to get the deposit back and pay for the room. Things were attached to my credit card, removed, something else debited. I'm still not sure it's right.
No comment on location. It's a stop on the highway - convenient that way. Breakfast was exceptional for self serve. Very good omelette, excellent coffee (Lavazza). The room was clean and neat.

A group of people in the lobby and pool area all evening / night and were rude and disrespectful screaming and jumping around on furniture and being extremely out of line! So we didn’t get to enjoy any amenities while we were there!
They did a great job with keeping the place clean and was friendly!!

A little odor in the room. But, I travel with plug ins so that issue was fixed ASAP.
This place was Great for our quick trip. LOCATION IS AMAZING. The hotel was clean, the check in staff was Nice. We enjoyed the gym and pool. Its a Waffle House near that was clean we love Waffle House. The view from our room was Good. The water was Hot ( Love it ). It was a small odor in the room but I travel with plug ins so I fixed that issue quick quick. Will visit again when traveling back to Cincinnati.

The room was perfect for my needs. Be aware it is smaller than you might expect and doesn't have a closet or drawers if you are traveling with a lot of clothes. It has some hangers on the wall.
Excellent facilities and comfortable, clean room and bathroom. A newer building. Stellar breakfast. A great value for one or two people needing simple accommodations.
