Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast was small, and food options in hotel restaurant are very over priced.
The location is great for walks, there is a lovely bar area and beer garden too. Bedrooms were comfortable and the premium tea bags and Nespresso coffee was a bonus.

United KingdomMy starter was Beef Carpaccio but was anything but. 3 slices of thick beef and no marinade. Spring onions were not peeled back and left with bad outer skins. The waiter lated admitted that the chef was training and the dish should not have gone out. I was not compensated for it never the less. Loud tapping noises during the night woke us both up. Very strange as happened several times and so we had a bad nights sleep. The receptionist could not understand this as it had never happened before. I have since found out from previous reviews that this has happened before and its put down to the old pipes of the central heating system. These matters will not prevent us from booking again however as in the main it was great.
Lovely solid looking hotel in an elevated position very handy for exploring the area. Large car park and lovely gardens with a contemporay feeling. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and accomodating. Great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Evening meal was very tasty and the breakfast was very good. Bedroom was huge with a very modern bathroom. Bed was king sized and very comfy. Bus stop across the road for exploring the area.

United KingdomThis is in no way against the hotel or surroundings - I rate it all exceptionally high. But… the external noise was definitely a low point - we woke in the morning around 5:30am to what we presumed was a vacuum, this was then followed by thumping from the room above - I presume maybe children running about which I know the hotel can do nothing about. As said above - this is not against the hotel, we just personally would have liked to sleep a little longer to make the break 100% relaxing.
The place is just amazing, spotlessly clean and a taste of luxury in lovely surroundings. We booked an executive suite which was the ‘Sir Don Bradman’ It had amazing views over the gardens and beyond. We had all the facilities you could possibly need from a bath in the room and then a separate shower & toilet, large tv, DAB radio, heater, plenty of bed linen and pillows, seating area to take in the views and lots more things besides. Very comfortable bed! Breakfast was fantastic- you could choose one thing from the menu (we went full English) It really was great, and it was to celebrate my milestone birthday so well worth booking the room we did & choosing that hotel. We did have a reservation for the restaurant but we cancelled it reluctantly because there wasn’t one dish that I could have had - my fault- I am a fussy eater ha! I am going to sound very boring now, but something a bit more simple like fish & chips or some kind of roast meat would have been lovely. All in all, a wonderful stay and I always try to mention everything in reviews- the good points far out weigh everything else.

Everything was great except breakfast. In small print on the menu it stated that breakfast was rationed to one particular type of breakfast, for example, you could have a continental breakfast alone or you could have a full English breakfast alone or you could have a vegetarian breakfast alone. You could not mix and match. This meant I could only have a full English breakfast but could not have any croissant, could not have any cerial, could not have any yogurt. Furthermore the Toast arrived after I had received my full breakfast, not with the pot of tea and there was no jam or marmalade offered with it just very hard butter from the fridge. Having said all that, the hotel was excellent, the bedroom was excellent and apart from breakfast, the whole experience was excellent. We will definitely go back there again despite the breakfast problem.

United KingdomBit picky but the room key was massive so impossible to put in a pocket!
Super helpful staff, very welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was really good, nice to be able to choose from an a la carte menu and dinner was excellent (as well as being pretty reasonable). Good location, easy to park at the hotel and even though there was a big wedding on the night we stayed the staff were still very considerate despite being pretty busy.

United KingdomNespresso pods didn't match the instructions so ended up with the strongest coffee when only fancied lighter one. 2 single beds joined to create the double/king size bed, however this meant the ridge between the beds could be felt.
Beautiful location with helpful staff so you can get the most out of the local scenery. Room was stunning, almost as nice as the view from the bedroom window. Just Wow!

United KingdomBeing woken by people in the staff bedroom
Standard room was small but nice. Sadly we're woken by banging above us around 3am. We later found out it was from the staff bedroom. We ate in the restaurant and the food was worth the visit alone
