How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was very noisy, we could hear through the walls in our room and could hear other guests quite distinctly. There was an event on the Friday and Saturday night playing music until 1am which was very loud and disruptive. It would have been helpful to know about these events in advance.
The room was very nice and clean, everything was provided as described. The staff were really friendly and breakfast was good especially the cooked breakfast.

We were disappointed that we couldn’t get a cooked breakfast until 10am and as we had to leave at 9.30 we could only have continental breakfast.
Very clean and comfortable room. We were able to get an evening meal which was quite good.

The area is a little depressed, however this hotel is a little gem. Breakfast arrangements are a little strange. No cooked option til 10am, but continental option plentiful.
The staff were really helpful. This little hotel was beyond our expectations Secure parking, too. .

Bit noisy from bar but stopped at 12.
Really friendly place. Food is absolutely fantastic. Comfy room. Great atmosphere in the pub in the evening and kids were allowed until 9. The building itself is really nice too. We have already planned to come back next year!

Dining space in the downstairs pub had its music volume increased to match the pub space at 8pm.
Room was smaller, with angled ceiling (top floor), but impeccably clean with fresh linens and towels. Rooms located above the pub space were quiet. Hot breakfast had a wide selection of options, and was tasty.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet night. I think the noise didn’t even come from the bar/restaurant below but the room next door. Think they were watching a football match first and then blasting music until late at night and again in the morning.
Room was nice and bed comfy. I also liked their food (especially the hot chocolate fudge cake).

The restaurant in the bar/dining room closed at 8:00 pm so we weren't able to get food after that time but we should have checked that out earlier. There was some noise from passersby in the hall outside our door.
The unpreposing exterior didn't prepare me for our modern, good-sized room with a door opening to a small deck. the bathroom was ultra-modern, clean and comfortable. There was a good assortment of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies on the desk along with a kettle to boil water. The beds were comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Lovely parking lot at the rear. Breakfast was good in the morning.

Unfortunately food serving in the pub ended early, but there were other interesting options open until late in Wishaw. There were two sets of stairs to get to the rooms.
Nice and inexpensive hotel run by a pub located below. The atmosphere in the pub was really nice, and prices were excellent.
