Great and sympathic house and super place to go to invent the north- and eastcoast if you are by car

It took some time to get used to the noice of the traffic

It is a very great and cosy house. We loved to sit and eat in the eat-in kitchen and the serre (however it was sometimes too hot in there). Very easy to feel at home in this house.

Minor comment - Really would appreciate luggage stands in the bedroom so we didn’t have to scrabble through bags on the floor.

Good location, well sized accommodation and well provisioned. Had everything we needed.

    Nothing.

First of all Jenny is lovely and made us feel so welcome. Property was lovely and much bigger than we expected. Well equipped kitchen and laundry room with everything you could need, really handy to have a freezer. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for 6 adults and a toddler. The weather was good during our visit so most of our time was spent in the garden or conservatory. Good location to use as a base for visiting Dunnet Head, John O Groats etc. Under 10 minutes by car to nearest village (Castletown) with a lovely butchers, well stocked Spar shop, hotel which serves food, chip shop and Chinese takeaway. You’ll also find access to the beach here (our grandson loved it). Throughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

The house can easily accommodate up to 3 couples and 1 single individual. The house is very cosy and very well located to visit the North Scotland area. The wifi was very good and can be accommodate remote working.

To us,,,there's really not a lot to dislike about this house,, other than the lack of footpaths along the main road, which can be busy at times should you wish to go for a walk round the local area. Other than that,, you will not be disappointed.

This is a great central location to stay in Caithness. You're roughly halfway between the two main towns, Wick and Thurso. We were met there by the owner Jenny. She showed us round the house , telling us about the history of it and how she ended up owning the place. It's got a well equipped large kitchen , decent sized living room And good sized bedrooms. There's also a conservatory to the side of the house that looks out to the large garden. There was just the three of us there but plenty of room for a larger family with two bathrooms. One upstairs and one down stairs . Good off road parking..all in all ,,, a place I would definitely return to 👍👍👍👍,

Only one thing: Wifi. Although we spent all week trying to get online at the property, it was impossible.

Beautiful farmhouse with an enclosed garden, parking and so much space inside. Well equipped kitchen. Spacious laundry room which is perfect for when the weather is a little damp. Downstairs and upstairs bathrooms. Everywhere was so clean and thoughtfully provisioned. We had eggs and milk in the fridge as we arrived.

The internet and the Tv could do with an upgrade. Other than that everything else was fantastic.

The house was lovely and plenty of space. The large garden was very nice. The patio was great. It was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Jenny was lovely and was there when we needed. She was kind to have made scones for us and they were delicious!

    Nothing. We enjoyed it all.

Lovely house with plenty of space and a wonderful conservatory which was lovely to sit in and enjoy the sun. Farmland all around but it has its own garden space. House had everything we needed! Hosts even left us some huge fresh eggs and potatoes that baked up beautifully. Fireplace was left with timber ready to go. Take the time to have a drink in the public bar of the Castletown Hotel .. very friendly locals happy to tell you all about the area.

We had a lovely stay at Lower Thura House. It is a spacious, comfortable home - perfect for our family of 5. Well located for John O’Groats and a trip to The Orkneys. We also loved Dunnet Bay. Jenny is delightful and super helpful. We had everything we needed for a very happy holiday. Thank you.

There was nothing to dislike here, unless you count the time flying by.

The accomodation was excellent , well equipped and very clean. The owners are really friendly and equip you with tea, coffee, sugar biscuits and eggs to get you started. The garden was nicely kept and nice to sit out in the sun. Beds are so comfortable and lots of storage.

There was not one thing I didn’t like. It was perfect.

The location is great for getting to John o’ Groats, Thurso and also if visiting Orkney as we did for a day trip. A car is a must have to get around or maybe even bringing a bicycle. I loved that Jenny had left us a welcome folder that included information on the history of the house, also all the little things you may need on your stay like salt, tea, coffee, eggs, cooking oil, shower gel and much more were included which I thought was brilliant and thoughtful. There is a big garden and conservatory to relax in too. The WiFi worked great once I placed beside the living room window. The house is beautiful, clean and cosy and the host Jenny is lovely and helpful. Would 100% recommend and 100% would stay again. My 9 year old daughter loved it very much also. So if you are thinking of booking do it you won’t be disappointed. There is also a wood burner in the living room it would be cosy at night but unfortunately we never used it as weather was beautiful and hot for our stay.

There is a 60 mph road close to the house. Some noise but the road is not busy.

As long as you have a car it is easy to explore the area. We went to Thurso, John O Groats, Wick, Lybster and the Orkneys.

All pretty good. As far as I could see the wifi was not connected to a broadband provider but I was happy to be offline for a day or two.

Very comfortable, homely rather than sterile. Plenty of room. Host was very helpful and always available if any minor problems.
