How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Toilet moved when sat on it needed sealant around the bottom to secure it better. Broken clock face on headboard surround .
Staff friendly. Breakfast great. Budget room required a bit of an update but clean and comfortable good value for money Bar still open when we got back around midnight

Exiting the car park onto the main road was a bit tricky if turning right. Otherwise all good.
Lovely building with a spacious lounge and dining room. Plenty of parking spaces. Room was compact but very nice and exceptionally clean.

There were no lifts. It would have helped to use a lift when carrying luggage to and from our room.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a dog and staying in a dog friendly hotel made our trip much easier. We appreciated being allowed to take our dog into the restaurant and the generally welcoming atmosphere. We would definitely come back.

The beds! Most uncomfortable bed I've slept in. Like sleeping on an ironing board. Surely this is what I paid £80+ a night for?? Lack of a lift.. which granted I was informed about prior to arrival. Alas I was told one flight of stairs.. there were 3. Two UP...The third actually going DOWN into the room?? I am disabled one flight yes.. 3 is too much for me. Plug in heater no central heating on. It was quite cold. Didn't have the energy to complain to be honest I was here for a funeral. Breakfast price unacceptable..did not eat. TRAFFIC NOISE 🫣
It was clean and quite well presented if not a bit outdated. Staff were friendly.

Tv was old and remote taped. Thought it would be cleaner. No sockets next to beds. No bottled water in the rooms. Considering the price water would could have been included.

Not necessarily not like the room was quite cold, we tried to turn the heating up but didn’t seem to work, our last visit you could have food in the evenings but the hotel no longer do which is a shame.
Local to family who we were visiting, very clean and friendly staff, good breakfast.

Arrived on a busy function night. My room may have been above the function room as felt I was in there. It all finished at midnight but the guests did not understand the concept of going to their rooms quietly over the following hour. This in NOT the fault of the hotel, just me having a moan about selfish guests.
Greeted by friendly staff (with a good sense of humour), which I like. Booking in was simple and straightforward. Great buffet breakfast, asked about a vegetarian option, and presented 10 mins later with some veggie sausages by more friendly and happy staff.

The property is very beautiful on the outside and on the inside. Super clean. There is no elevator but the staff is very nice and so they could help you with baggages. The breakfast was delicious

It's not a dislike but the hot water was extremely hot enough to burn so maybe turning it down just thinking of children( Being a grandparent)
This was the second time first time last year we stayed for a funeral and we were not so happy with the room This time I requested a low floor room we were in room 39 which was a much better than our previous out dated room. I would just like to say how sincere Sarah was when she realised our food was not that hot.Last time we came we had got the breakfast heated up in the microwave..The gain Marie's used don't always keep the food at a consistent temperature and then putting it on cold plates makes it worse We can't be the only people that don't like eating cold cooked breakfast Sarah even warmed our plates for us on our last morning(yesterday) She is a credit to your staff. We would not think twice the next time we are travelling up north to see relations.I Thank you

Rooms Needs major refurb and possible easy access for showers. The elderly that stay over can’t afford to try and step in to a bath to have a shower! Heard a conversation at the breakfast table where someone was not happy with bath showers everything else is fantastic.

It was really disappointing to hear the restaurant had closed when we visited on the second occasion. The food was amazing, this needs to be made clearer on the website as we had to go outside and the food was horrible in the pub we went to ! Also for breakfast staff need to know what contains gluten, I was misinformed about a food item and felt quite ill after as I have a gluten intolerance which is very unpleasant !!
Really clean and friendly staff love the lobby where you can sit and have a relaxed chat.
