The welcome drink, the unique camino stamp, the museum tour, the chocolates in the room. Room was abit small, only because we had 2 luggages. Breakfast was simply marvellous. Just wished I had more time to linger & enjoy the spread & hot chocolate.

The Hotel da Oliveira is within the historical Guimarães city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Guimarães Castle, the city’s most iconic landmark is 150 metres away. The hotel is right in the historical center of Guimarães but still offers parking (100m down the road). The room was absolutely fantastic, so comfortable and neat. We had a gorgeous balcony opened to the pedestrian street below, the bed had 3 different sort of pillows to choose from, I couldn’t fault anything. The staff was extremely cordial and kind, especially considering my husband’s mishap at breakfast when he spilled coffee all over the counter (we’re terribly sorry). They were all lovely to us from the first minute to the last! Great impression since it’s our first time in the city, but we’ll definitely be back and stay here again!
