Built in 1865 and restored in 1902, Otira Stagecoach Hotel is situated in the heart of the Arthur's Pass National Park. It offers antiques throughout as well as stagecoaches and horse wagons outside. Incredible place - a destination in and of itself. Booked and ate there as it was the only place available, but (as advertised) it's the most interesting place you'll ever stay, the food is good (and huge portions) and the surroundings are quiet and beautiful.

Boasting stunning views of mountains, river and the valley, Bealey Hotel is within a 30-minute drive of 5 ski fields. It offers a restaurant, barbecue facilities and free on-site parking. The view was stunning! Excellent staff and service.

Set within a stunning historic rainforest and walking track, Jackson's Retreat Alpine Holiday Park offers 5-star accommodation with access to a garden and a barbecue. The park is in a beautiful setting. The bathrooms, showers and communal kitchen/lounge area were all very clean and well-maintained. We were in a cabin that was very comfortable. The nature walk is definitely worth doing and leads to very impressive waterfall.

Simple and really great place to stay for hiking trips or splitting up the train ride. Plenty of public space, upstairs has an extended balcony, kitchen is quite big, little grassy area with picnic table outside. Shower and toilets clean and work great. Nothing more to ask for at this price honestly.
