Loved this place! Friendly, helpful staff and spacious, clean rooms with convenient restaurant for dinner down the hall. Situated in a peaceful rural town. I would go out of my way to stay here again.

MacKenzie Country Hotel is located in Twizel, in the heart of the Aoraki Mount Cook and MacKenzie Country Region. It offers modern rooms with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast was REALLY good! Not complimentary but a great selection and everything was quite tasty.

The Heritage Gateway Hotel is situated in Omarama, at the crossroads of MacKenzie Basin, Lindis Pass and Waitaki Valley. It offers panoramic views and excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Hot breakfast buffet was the best we had on our trip to New Zealand. Can’t say enough how great the staff was!

The Rest is set in Twizel and features a tennis court. With quiet street views, this accommodation provides a patio. Very comfortable. Unit was laid out well with thoughtful amenities and supplies.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Rosedale Cottages is situated in Twizel. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. These are just two independently owned chalets next door to the owners house. There is a real home from home feel about them, and they are incredibly equipped with everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. We were met after our arrival by the owner ( I am so sorry, your name escapes me. Apologies) who gave us the run down on the chalet and some invaluable information about Mount Cook, where to park for the Hooker trail, and some very sound advice to get there early! It was great to return to the accommodation after a long day walking and to sit on the veranda with a cup of tea (or maybe a glass of wine!) And enjoy the peace and quiet. I'm also grateful for laundry facilities, which was a real bonus. Do not hesitate to book these chalets. You will not be disappointed.

Offering mountain views, Pukaki Air Lodge in Twizel offers accommodation, barbecue facilities, a terrace and a shared lounge. Complimentary WiFi is available. It was one of the most unique and comfortable places we stayed at in New Zealand. Only wish we had more time to spend there.

BigSky Motels offers air-conditioned accommodation in Omarama. The accommodation features ski storage space, as well as a tennis court and barbecue facilities. Brand new!!! Very nice place with all you need!

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Twizel Cottages is situated in Twizel. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. A fabulous cottage, clean, comfortable, with everything one could want provided. The patio was a lovely private place to chill. Twizel itself is small but with good facilities and an excellent supermarket. An easy walk from the cottage to the shops and restaurants. Easy driving distance to the lakes and Mt Cook. Loved our time here.

Situated by Lake Pukaki on a hilltop, Pukaki Lakeside Getaway NZ features panoramic views of Mt Cook and the surrounding farmlands. It is a 30-minute drive from Lake Tekapo and offers free WiFi. The view from the property was spectacular, absolutely beautiful. The house was very well equipped and very comfortable.

Quail Rest is located on Totara Peak Station which is a working High Country Station situated on the shores of Lake Benmore 22kms from Twizel township. Free WiFi and private parking is included. Beautiful location, amazing views and amazing host :)
