Located within 600 metres of Matsumoto Station and 3.9 km of The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, Onyado Nono Matsumoto Natural Hot Spring provides rooms in Matsumoto. I liked everything about this hotel but my most favorite part was that we could walk barefoot in the entire hotel, a lot more hotels could do that. The check-in was smooth, our luggage was placed in our room by the staff, staff who was friendly and helpful during our entire stay there. The room was clean and the dimensions perfect, not too small (there's a nook big enough to fit 2 huge suitcases) - plus, we had a view of the train tracks which for us is a plus (if you close the windows the noise from the train is diminished so no problem here). They have this amazing onsen that you can use from 3PM until 10AM (one of the pools is built under the open sky which is the best thing when it comes to onsens); after taking a bath you can check their pretty extensive manga collection (there are chairs and a desk where you can sit and read to your heart's content) and have ice cream (for free). You can have free coffee and juice and also a free late evening snack (soba/ramen mostly). 5 mins walk from the train station. Seriously, I can't imagine what is there not to like about this hotel (considering also the price which is more than fair).

Prefect location where is only 3 mins from Mt. Fuji Station by walk. I really enjoy the fantastic view of Mountain Fuji at the roof, you can see the sunrise directly from the hostel. All staffs who I met were super nice, especially for the host who recommended me to enjoy the hot spring nearby with discount price. Laundry service and the pantry is so convenience for backpackers. A mini plaza is just 1 min walk from the hostel, you can buy snacks, vegetables and fruits ... Several local food restaurants are just at the opposite side of the station, enjoy the meal with reasonable price. It doesn't like Kawaguchikon where is usual crowd, I love here is more peaceful while I was staying with 2 nights. Highly recommend you staying here to enjoy a leisure environment with cheerful moments!!

The food was the best part, each of our three dinners was unique and delicious. The breakfast spread was nice, and the wine lounge (with snacks, beer, and juice as well) was a great place to work with a view of Mt Fuji. Our room had a nice view of Mt Fuji as well, and the open air bath was always the perfect temperature. We went to the hotel hot spring during the day and had the entire place to ourselves (other guests were likely out exploring the area).

From the moment we arrived the hotel took our breath away even before we saw our room. I booked this hotel for my brother's birthday and the staff made this honestly a stay to remember. We used the bikes and went on a bike ride and we had an onsen in our room which was great as my brother has tattoos. The view from our room was beautiful! On the night of our meal our waitress asked to take a picture of us which she then had printed and framed and put on our table for breakfast which was such a lovely memorable touch!

Best stay near fuji. The rooms were large and the location is walkable from the station. We loved the little touches like the Japanese style robes and welcome signs for the room. We played games on our little back deck and looked up at Fuji. The room was so clean and had a great onsen in the bathroom for personal use.
