Hótel Vellir is a 3-star property situated on the outskirts of the capital city and only 36 km from the airport. This was a lovely hotel and the perfect place to start our 2 wk visit to Iceland. The hotel was easy to find with free parking right in front of the hotel. As we had just flown from the USA and had a bit of jet lag we were happy the hotel was able to offer early check in for a small fee. That was perfect! So after a nap we were ready to start exploring! the hotel itself is very clean, well maintained with a nice little bar, free use of the gym next door, a lovely breakfast room and a sports bar connected towards the back of the hotel. The food in the hotel and bar were great. The rooms were comfortable and had everything you need and of course as we found all over Iceland, the people were so kind and friendly.

Located in the coastal town of Mosfellsbaer, this hotel is just off Iceland’s scenic Ring Road. Central Reykjavik is 10 minutes’ drive away. Both Wi-Fi and on-site private parking are free. Hotel Laxnes exceeded my expectations in every way. The location was stunning, the rooms were clean and tidy, and the bar was amazing with friendly staff. Plus, the entertainment options like watching football on a big screen and playing darts and pool made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

This Viking-themed hotel is located at the harbour in the seaside town of Hafnarfjordur. Humpback whales can sometimes be spotted in the harbour during winter. we stayed in a cabin. Each cabin had a name - ours was Thor! We had a great dinner at the restaurant and the included breakfast was generous and really good.

Located in Álftanes, a 15-minute drive from central Reykjavík, Eyvindarholt Guesthouse features bright and modern accommodation with free WiFi, scenic views, as well as Icelandic art and design. Really quiet and cozy place with a very nice host! We loved our stay here and wish we did it for more than one night. Will stay here again without a doubt!

Accommodation at Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse was just great - I recommend to everyone who plans visiting Thingvellir and surroundings. Very calm and peaceful location, with friendly, super kind and helpful host, breakfast included and amazing view from living / dining room... it`s exceptional accommodation, we liked it a lot! Thank you very much for everything!

A recently renovated apartment situated in Garðabær, Spacious & refurbished 1 bedroom apartment in suburban Reykjavik features a garden. Lovely area centrally located to shops, restsurants and alk your needs while staying around Reykjavik. The apartment had modern decor, including ultra comfy bed. Peace and quiet. Plenty of parking, lovely owners. Totally hidden gem. Highly recommend.
