Most beautiful place for people in love with nature and silence; extremely nice and helpful staff, tasty and great selection for breakfast. Of course it isn't a place for party people, but since most of hotels aims for them, I would see Kjarnalundur brave in suiting mindful guests.

Situated in Akureyri, Hotel Akureyri Dynheimar features a bar. Free WiFi is available as well as free parking. All units are equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar and electric kettle. The rooms are as per traditional Scandinavian standards - they are not big, but fit everything you need. We liked that the hotel had a cinema theme and decor, a vertical hydroponic greenhouse. Extra thanks for the vinyl records player in our room. That added a lot of extra vibe to our stay.

This family-run hotel is found along the Ring Road/Route 1, 14 km outside Akureyri. It offers a hot tub, sun terrace and views of Eyjafjördur. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Loved the location, the room, the breakfast and the staff behaviour. The northern lights viewing point, the hot tub, the sauna, the snooker table and the dart board were amazing value add-ons. They had coffee/tea/hot cocoa through the day at their restaurant, and a kitchenette to microwave meals. Highly recommended stay option near Akureyri.
