In the Rio Dulce river near a 16th century castle the Tortugal Boutique River Lodge peninsula is bathed by almost constant on shore breezes providing a cool and refreshing place. This is a great place, accessible by boat, usually from the Sundogs bar who will call the Lodge for you. Tortugal has a great restaurant & bar with reasonable prices & apart from a big lunch one day in Livingstone, we didn't eat anywhere else. They can also do a fantastic plate of chicken nachos for a light meal in the evening in those circumstances The room we had was a hut right on the river itself with a large bedroom, a great balcony & hammock.The bathroom however is small - but that is similar to many places in Central America. Hot water in both the shower & sink - unusual in Central America, but no shampoo supplied which is unusual Free coffee was available each morning from 6am & we would get this & just sit on our balcony & watch the river waking up before breakfast. Angela the Manager was superb, extremely helpful & great company at breakfast & dinner. They can do laundry for you & I would highly recommend this place.

El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park. Very special location surrounded by water, jungle and mangrove. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Food is good. The owners are both very friendly and helpful arranging trips and transportation.

Nanajuana Río Dulce has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in Río Dulce. Among the various facilities of this property are a shared lounge, a garden and barbecue facilities.... Breakfast was delicious and prices were comparable to restaurants outside of hotel. Hotel also offered an hour or two (don't remember clearly) of free little foot paddling boats, which was fun to pass the time. The hotel is nice and secure as well with security outside of resort. Loved that they were pet friendly as well, so I got to bring my pup along!

Located in the middle of the jungle, 3 km from Livingston Town Centre, Finca Tatin Hotel features an extensive garden, a furnished terrace and hammock area. I loved my stay there, amazing place in the middle of the jungle, great atmosphere! They take care of everything. The place has a restaurant and they offer a range of activities (kayak, waterfalls, beach…)

Tenamit Maya se află în El Higuerito și include o grădină și un bar, precum și un restaurant. Personalul proprietății poate organiza servicii de transport de la/la aeroport. It was a very nice stay. The staff was very nice and the food was tasty (we got huge portions). We swam in the river, went zip line and kayaking. It is very quiet and pleasant around. Beautiful place. There were some mosquitoes, but that's obvious if you book a house in such a place. And the location is great.
