Situated in Winscombe, 22 km from Ashton Court, The Swan Inn features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Wow what a great place this was! Quiet inn with big heart, fantastic staff, great food, beautiful local people to chat with, comfortable room. It was the highlight of our trip. Wendy took us under her wing immediately and ensured we had a table for the much anticipated Sunday roast. Will definitely return!

With a restaurant and a bar onsite, The Bath Arms Hotel offers adult-only accommodation in the picturesque village of Cheddar. The Cheddar Gorge Caves are just 10 minutes' walk away. Very good hosts. Clean, comfortable room. Very good meals.

Adjacent to The Langford Inn are en suite bedrooms housed in 2 converted 17th-century barns with exposed beams, original brickwork, oak floors and luxuries for modern living. I was warmly greeted and shown to my room. The room is absolutely lovely. They provided many extras. I had Prosecco and an IPA waiting for me when I arrived. The bed is fabulous. The shower was good water pressure and very warm. The linens were very plush and towels huge. There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate provided. I ate dinner there and had a wonderful dining experience. Andrew fixed me a bag of food items for the early departure since I would miss breakfast. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. I would caution that if you’re a very light sleeper, there are some sounds that might wake you. The cars leaving might be the loudest but they are gone, but I was there when a very large dinner party was happening. I will definitely go there again. It was only a 10 minute drive (easy drive for an American) back to the car rental return. Then a bus to the airport.

Located in Shipham, within 24 km of Ashton Court and 26 km of Bristol Temple Meads Station, Lillypool Farm provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests... Basic room but very spacious and clean, absolutely perfect.

On the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, overlooking the picturesque hamlet of Loxton, the B/W The Webbington Hotel and Spa offers free WiFi and leisure facilities, including a heated indoor... Stayed here to catch an early morning flight from Bristol. Lovely location for woodland walks, a game of tennis, a swim, spa, decent food and coming back to an old English style comfy room.

Centrally located in North Somerset and within 20 minutes from Bristol, Weston super mare, Clevedon, Cheddar Caves and Wells. The property was lovely and comfortable and we had the best few nights of sleep in the super comfy bed. We also had a very tasty breakfast from the very friendly owner.

Located in Cheddar, the recently renovated The Old Police House offers accommodation 27 km from Ashton Court and 29 km from Bristol Temple Meads Station. Very warm and lovely welcome from Lyn. The Old Police House is a very special place, small but there‘s everything you need. Comfortable bed, cooking place, fridge… Lyn recommended us a few good places to go out and have diner, within walking distance. We would really come back once. Thank you Lyn for your kindness and helpfulness.

Set in Compton Martin, 22 km from Ashton Court, The Ring 'O' Bells offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Great friendly staff. Lovely room with ensuite. Restaurant food was lovely. Highly recommend this one.

Located in Cheddar and only 28 km from Ashton Court, Gordons provides accommodation with pool views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property was lovely. It is close to the gorge and within walking distance of a number of good restaurants. Our room was well decorated and had a nice big window overlooking the pool and gorgeous landscaping. The breakfast was delicious and they were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Everyone was welcoming and great to work with.

The Old Manor House offers accommodation in Axbridge. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms include a flat-screen TV. You will find a kettle in the room. Graham met us with a big smile as we arrived. Explained breakfast and our room. We had booked as just a room for the night to be near cheddar gorge. But we walked into Axebridge and discovered it's a proper cute medieval town. Nice pub the Lamb Inn. The walk takes you through a muddy field to avoid walking on the road, so you get muddy shoes. The BnB was great, basic but fairly large family room with 3 beds, Shower room was standard. We wanted for nothing. The biscuits and coffee and tea were appreciated after a long days travel. Breakfast was great. Individual servings in reusable glass bottles for cereals and drinks. Great idea. Home made jams and bread. And a full cooked breakfast!! Thanks
