The location is excellent the views out of this world, the staff are very friendly and will accommodate any requests, the highlight for me was the food, compliments to the chef, the menu was not pretentious but served classics dishes to the highest standard, was shone through was the quality of the ingredients that was the real highlight of the hotel.

Sheildag is a gem if a location. It is a long drive to Skye but we made it work. This was truly a unique stay. Loved building a fire and sleeping next to a field of sheep. Plus the glen water running stream is very calming. Just a cool place.

Hartfield House Hostel offers pet-friendly accommodation in Applecross. Free private parking is available on site. Prompt and clear communication from beginning to end. In fact, the most detailed set of information I've received from any of the properties I've stayed in while driving around the NC500. Lara put my mind at ease by informing about late check-in procedures, so I didn't have to rush on the road. Normally, I prefer not to share bathrooms and kitchens, but given the high demand for properties around the area at this time of the year, I was left with no other option. This wasn't a problem at all. Everything is super organized and pristine, from the communal kitchen, laundry room, toilets and showers. I opted for a single room, which was clean, comfortable and adequate after a whole day on the road. Appelcross Village and Heartfield are surrounded by rugged, yet peaceful settings, and I wish I had dedicated more time to this area.

Featuring a garden, The Bunkhouse is set in Applecross. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. We arrived after 9pm but the hostel reception host arranged for us to get our key anyways. Rooms are comfy, bathrooms are very clean. Everything is eco friendly, they really go the extra mile. Location wise, it is really very beautiful there. The check out was perfect, very nice receptionist who gave us directions to visit the area. Highly recommended.
