"Located in the coastal resort town of Montrose, Grey Harlings is a family run hotel offering relaxing and cosy stays. This hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff are friendly, helpful and always willing to assist you. The hotel is astonishing, with a beautiful decoration and atmosphere. We saw that it is being sold, and we just really hope the next owner respects what has been established. Highly recommended!

Situated on the edge of the Carnoustie Golf Links Championship Course, the Carnoustie Golf Hotel is less than 200 metres from the sandy beach. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Good size of room with a fantastisk view. Easy check in and out process and decent options for breakfast in the morning.

Located in Arbroath, Lunan House offers beachfront accommodation 200 metres from Lunan Bay Beach and provides various facilities, such as a garden, a restaurant and a bar. I didn’t expect this hotel such a lovely place for one night short stay before we heading towards Edinburgh (coming from the Loch Ness). It was surrounded in natural but the great Lunan bay beach was just around the corner. The room was spacious and facilities worked well. The photos posted here didn’t show its full charm. I highly recommend it if you are doing a road trip and take it as a stopover between the Loch Ness and the Arbroath cliffs.

The staff were very competent and friendly. The location was perfect, right on the harbour front. Excellent restaurant and comfortable room. Access to the rooms was quite separate from the restaurant, at the side of the building.

Set in Millton of Clova, 31 km from Glamis Castle, Glen Clova Hotel & Luxury Lodges offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Wonderful lodge in a remote location. The perfect start to a 16 day tour of Scotland. Hiking the Glen Clova area to Airlie tower, Castle Clova, and Glen Doll was the perfect way to adjust to the time change. Their restaurant staff are to notch.

Set in Kirriemuir and with Discovery Point reachable within 28 km, Airlie Arms Hotel offers express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a bar. Nice hotel with spacious rooms, very clean and recently renovated or decorated - everything looked quite new and fresh despite being in an old building. The staff were lovely and the bed was comfortable; big and clean bathroom; windows with views on a small cute garden. Very silent at night, too. There's a supermarket a few meters away and parking facilities around the city. The hotel has its own pub/restaurant, offering a good variation of dishes - great and convenient in a village with not so big an offer for dining out. All perfect, would totally recommend. I stayed here before going for a hike to Corrie Fee, which is half hour away by car.

The hotel is 40 miles away from Aberdeen and Dundee, and 10 miles from Montrose and the rail station.... Friendly and helpful staff. Good location on high street. Had Mckewans beer on tap. They were renovating while we were there which made some public areas closed
