La Casona Las Cinco Calderas is a 17th century noble house converted into a rural hotel, located in the Cantabrian coastal countryside. It is on the route of the Camino de Santiago del Norte. The inn was absolutely stunning. Completely upgraded and redecorated within the last year by the current owners. The design finishes were impeccable and the common areas on the main floor and the bucolic setting were lovely. The entire experience was peaceful and restful. The honor bar was a nice touch as was offering dinner on site. Our room was large and easily accommodated 3. The breakfast was a notch above the standard hotel breakfast. The owners were attentive and let us check into our room early so that I had time for a nap. Best accommodation yet on the Camino.

This beautiful country house is surrounded by 3000 m² of gardens in Suesa, less than 4 km from the beaches at Somo. It features an ideal setting for hiking. Everything. La Casona is beautiful. Service is excellent. Breakfast was unbelievable!

This modern hotel is located just 450 metres from the wide, sandy beach of Loredo. It has its own outdoor swimming pool surrounded by gardens. The hotel is amazing. It is located in a small village. It is at a walking distance from grocery, restaurants, bars and shops. It is also very close to the main beaches of the area that are ideal for surfing. The room was very equipped, including air conditioning. Bathroom was big and extremely clean. A small breakfast with coffee/tea, soft drink and croissants/bread/yogurt was available for only 2,50 euro. The staff was extremely gentle and kind. It is the real added value of the hotel!

Hotel Vijanera is located 500 metres from Galizano beach and 3 km from Langre beach and the Cabo de Ajo cliff. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, free private parking and an à la carte restaurant. Ramera made this stay a ‘10’ as he was extremely personable, knowledgeable and helpful. Room was very comfortable with a cozy bed, large window that opened and very nice private bathroom (shower had foot massager!). Attached restaurant made getting food and drinks a breeze.

Bemon Playa Hotel is located in the town of Somo, across the bay from Santander. It is just 150 metres from a long sandy beach and various surfing schools. Surf equipment can be stored on site. The property was a charming with a beach/surf interior design. It was clean. The staff was friendly and professional. The location was great.
