Set on the beach in Costa Rica’s Tortuguero National Park, El Icaco Tortuguero offer Caribbean Sea views from the common areas. You can observe the protected Green Turtle laying its eggs nearby. This is a great hotel in a great location--right next to the beach! Of course, you can't swim in the ocean around Tortuguero, but it was still fabulous to have the ocean right there! You can just step outside in the morning and go for a walk. The hotel is next to a tree where the Great Green Macaws flock and hang out. The hotel is also really quiet at night. The staff are also wonderful--friendly, kind, and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The fan works perfectly. I never felt too hot. Showers had hot water. Breakfast was great! For budget travelers, this is a terrific hotel.

Super lovely small casa to stay over. The room was spacious, the beds comfy, a lovely terrace, a tap in the garden to clean your walking shoes if necessary. Delicous breakfast, nice small swimming pool to refresh after a hot day. And the most outstanding characteristic: the super friendly staff. They helped to organize all our trips and our transport to Puerto Viejo. Gerard eg is amazing.

Staff very friendly and helpful! All tours easily booked with them from local associates. They borrowed us binoculars and flashlights for the tours. Great location near the national park entry not directly on the main road.

We loved playing with their dog when it was around! Our mattress was comfortable and getting clean towels every day was really convenient given that things take a long time to dry in the humid weather.

It’s a lovely, quaint, rustic little hotel right next to the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely communal kitchen area, hammocks and outdoor space.

El millor ha estat el personal, molt agradable des del principi. Ens van donar te fred a l’arribar, sense cost, i tambe ens van donar taps per dormir (tot i que no els vam necessitar, altres llocs de costa rica son molt mes sorollosos) i caramels en una bosseta molt bonica! Des del principi vam estar com a casa. Tenen cuina ben equipada, a la qual pots accedir les 24h (a la nit et donen clau). Molt ben ubicat, a prop de tot! Per booking vam poder obtenir un “upgrade” sense cost i per tant vam tenir AC per un preu molt raonable.
