I wish we could have stayed longer.

The hotel is beautiful and just far enough out of the noise of Pisco Elqui, having a kitchen to cook in made all the difference. Breakfast exceeded our expectations, it’s better than it looks in the photos. Everything was freshly made with local produce and completely delicious!

Featuring free WiFi access and a complimentary breakfast, Solar de los Madariaga offers accommodations in a fully-refurbished 140-year-old manor house in Vicuña. very friendly reception by the owner who told us a lot about the history of the building. the hotel is very stylish and tastefully furnished, with spacious public spaces. room amenities were excellent, beds and bathroom very comfortable. breakfast was freshly prepared to order (included). we also used the restaurant for dinner, quality was excellent. together with enough places in the shade and a nice swimming pool and garden a high quality "resort" like experience in the middle of vicuna. the owner also organised a last-minute astronomical tour for us. very much recommended.

Upon entering, you feel like you just arrived at a private estate. There are various fruit and vegetable gardens, and multiple buildings all designed with an old-style South American charm. The property is quite large and is immaculate throughout. The rooms are situated overlooking tranquil gardens and an appealing main pool area. There is a second pool, as well as a hot tub, on the property that is near the rooms, which is very convenient. Both are well set up with chairs and are very clean, and offer food and drink services. There is a huge restaurant which adjoins the main pool where you can also dine throughout the day. In my opinion, everything written regarding this property, almost all positive, does not fully capture just how wonderful this place really is. Everything is clean and the gardens are groomed to perfection. The rooms and bathroom are spotless and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Each room has its own porch with a table and chairs. There are several vineyards within walking distance, surrounded by rolling hills, that overlook the property. The breakfast is excellent and can be served to you right in your room if you prefer. This was a nice option as we ate it on our porch each morning. The dinners were very tasty and well presented. The staff was amazing in all aspects. Every person we encountered would greet you with a warm smile and was willing to help you with anything you needed. Lastly, I want to mention the owner, Juan Pablo. He greeted us the moment we arrived and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He was there for us the entire time and gave us many suggestions to explore Chile on the rest of our trip. All his suggestions were spot on. He could not have been nicer. I would stay here again if the opportunity arises. Just book your room and don’t worry about a thing. Juan Pablo and his professionally trained staff will take care of the rest.

We liked the public spaces - reception, bar and restaurant - and our bedroom was comfortable. All the staff were very good too.
