Our stay in the Borneo Jungle Adventure lodge was nothing short of spectacular! From the seamless pick-up and drop-off from Sandakan to the incredible activities arranged by the lodge, every detail was perfect. The lodge itself was well-equipped and comfortable, and we were thrilled to find reliable WiFi in the common area.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the river cruises, expertly guided by Linda and her team. Their knowledge and dedication were evident, and they went above and beyond to ensure we saw the best wildlife the region has to offer, including the elusive Big 5. Linda's passion and expertise truly enhanced our experience, making each cruise an adventure to remember.
A special mention goes to the food – the best Malaysian home-cooked meals we’ve ever had! The lodge graciously accommodated our vegetarian request, and every meal was a delightful culinary experience.
This stay comes highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of Borneo's jungle while enjoying excellent hospitality and thrilling wildlife adventures. Thank you to Linda and the entire team for making our stay unforgettable!

Lodging, meals, guiding... all was superb (including the sightings of pygmy elephants and orangutans). The people at the Last Frontier Resort are very passionate about their jobs and they excel at it. Rodel was a great guide and Jason went out of his way to make sure our onward journey by bus would work smoothly. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Would be 11 out of 10 (if that was a possibility).
So if you get the chance - book it :)

The room was really comfortable with everything needed. Good breakfast and dinner, there was enough food and it was good. The price for the dinner (35 MYR per person is very reasonable in my opinion, especially considering the remote location).
We really enjoyed the river cruises. One of them was the highlight of our trip to Borneo as we got to see the herd of pigmy elephants. The boat driver/guide was very excited as well, he changed the position of the boat numerous times while we were watching the elephants so that we could do lots of wonderful photos.

Hill top lodges were amazing. Clean, spacious, leads right onto the private beach. Also far enough from the day tourists to feel separate. Cheaper than other resorts in these islands.
The river safari was absolutely amazing. It’s a small walk to the pier from the lodge but we managed to see elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, loads of birds and even 2 orangutans! Kai was an excellent tour guide.
Lodges were spacious cool clean and brand new bathrooms. Resort location is perfect. Much quieter than the other resorts.
Stayed one night. Rustic charming lodges with all facilities. Helpful staff, great lounge/restaurant sitting area. Can have a meal or a drink there and buy supplies of water etc. Fantastic location for Orangutan rehabilitation centre and Sun Bear centre both next door to each other 10 minutes walk from the property. No bags even small ones allowed in Orangutan centre but free lockers provided. Swimming pool closes at 17.30 Great jungle walkways around the site
The lodges are conveniently located in the National Park and walking distance to the amenities. Good view of Mount Kinabalu from the lodges. The breakfast in the restaurant is excellent! The xmas decoration is nice and bring out the festive ambient.
I like the fact that the auntie feed us with more than we can eat! Comfortable lodge, peaceful and serene place to get away from the bustling cities and work life. Slept like a log during our stay here. The lodges equiped with air conditioning, hot heater, basic amenities..they even have all day coffee tea.
Perfect location for walking to the Rainforest Discover Centre and Orangutan Sanctuary. The complex is quite large with multiple lodges. The room was comfortable and large with AC and fan. The breakfast is okay and there is a restaurant which serves food until 8pm. You can pre order for eating after the RDC night safari.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The lodges are situated within the Kinabalu park so you wake up to a breathtaking scenery of the mountain. It gets chilly in the evening and early morning. Our large king bed was super comfy. Breakfast was decent.
Howard was so passionate and informative, he went above and beyond to make this a great stay for us. Nothing was too much trouble and his family were so welcoming and hospitable. The lodges are a great location in the jungle, but also a 25 minute walk to the beach. It's an interesting but also peaceful environment to spend a few days exploring the area. The beach walk recommend by Howard was amazing, it's like paradise!
Location is just perfect. We saw orang oetans at breakfast and while walking down the staircase. I think this place is more unique compared to the other lodges alongside the river. Room is cosy and basic. You do have hot water and at nights the temperature is quite comfortable for sleeping. The guys at the lodge spent lot of effort to make your stay as best as possible. Food is also good. I would definitely recommend this place!
