Trevligt och lugnt boende med hemkänsla. Flavio och övrig personal var trevliga och hjälpsamma. Frukosten som serverades utomhus på altanen med utsikt över havet var generös. Det fanns bussar nära hotellet som gick direkt till centrum av Rio. Nära till flyget.

Amazing host, couldn't be more helpful. We got a welcome chat with info on what sights to see with all the insider tips of how best to enjoy those experiences. Perfect room, close to restaurants, shop and bars as well as the beach. The house is perfect and we were allowed to use the washing machine- great place

Very different type of hostel... It's just a dorm in someone's apartment. It was a great place to get a good night of sleep after too many Caparinhas. Highly recommend if you're looking for something chill with nice staff.

I didn't like a shared apartment with two suites. I have rented the second suite due to safety issues. Also, I can't use the piscine because I don't have medical certification. and I didn't have time to visit a medic.

I stayed at three different hotels during my time in Rio and this was my favorite one! I loved the lush courtyard that made you feel like you're miles away from the city, and chilling in one of the hammocks at night while listening to the birds - a calm little oasis in Rio. Another thing I really appreciated was the delicious breakfast that was served every morning- homemade, and cooked with love. While the pousada is located in a favela, I never felt unsafe there - but this may not be for everyone. Also be aware that the pousada is up on a hill, so if you're mobility-impaired, this may be an issue (the moto taxis can take you only up part of the hill, then there are still some stairs to climb..) I love walking, so it wasn't a problem for me.

Staying at Villa Laurinda was the kickstart to probably the most amazing trip of my life in my 22 years on this earth. I originally booked here, because it had good ratings in a safe area. So, for us (3 American women in a big city that they only knew so much alike) to arrive to, not only a house but a home, was bliss. Walter gave us a sense of understanding of the bigger picture of Brasil, while taking the time to introduce us to his surroundings. And Daniel was the most wonderful host, conversationalist, & guide to the beautiful city that he cares so much about. He brings such a warm sense of home to the Villa. We’re so glad we stayed here, especially as our first stop. The Villa Laurinda has such a magical, peaceful feeling that we’re so grateful to have experienced!

This was an amazing experience. We’re so glad we started our trip here. It was ideal to relax here for the first two days in Rio. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice, the view is stunning and the pool open late. The rooms so spacious clean and the terrace with the view such a bonus! We loved staying here.
