Set in park-like grounds on the shores of Lake Te Anau, 5 minutes' walk from the town centre, Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers has both mountain and lake views from the majority of the rooms. Lovely room. Helpful staff. Great location

Accommodation options include self-contained studio motels, cabins, private rooms, powered and non-powered sites. Free Wi-Fi access is available. The location by the lake and close to Visitor Centre. A walking distance to town center. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Staff were responsive for changes and adaptations in booking. I also like the range of available stay, fits for every budget.

Lovely clean simple accomodation in the middle of nowhere, but very handy for being closer to Milford Sound. A big thank you for the help we received to enable communication with the Milford cruise company to rearrange our cruise. Lovely little chalet that was clean and well equipped with stunning views up the Eglinton valley. I would love to go back there and spend longer exploring the area.
