The host Gandi is super helpful, helping us arranging trip to Abu Simbel and Luxor. The driver to Luxor (i even didn’t know his name) is really nice, careful, and thoughtful. He drove us to 2 temples along the way in an unbelievable hot day. Our whole family likes him a lot. Hope he has a safe trip back home.

We only stayed here one night and didn't get a chance to explore the place much, because we were headed to Abu Simbel the next day. But the hosts were amazingly welcoming and friendly, and even packed us a nice breakfast for our day trip. The room was very nice, with floor beds, I personally love sleeping on the floor so I was happy about that. The bathroom was shared but very clean and spacious. It is also very easy to get to from the main town of Aswan, using the public ferry.

I had an amazing time. They have the friendliest staff that make you feel like instant family. The food was incredible and they will literally help you plan whatever you want to do. They genuinely want everyone to have a great time. A cross between a camp and a farm with the Nile as your backdrop, this is how to really feel like a local in Aswan. I go back whenever I can.

The location of the hostel is perfect and we can go to the city via mini bus. Also the hostel is clean, the hosts David and Marina are so helpful. David was able to arrange the tours for us and if not he would tell us the best way to do the tourist spot. He made sure we have our breakfast daily even though we were waking up early and moving around. I found this to be the best and reasonably priced hostel. I would recommend this to everyone who is visiting Aswan.

Heissa is a special place and you should come here when you are interested in the nubian culture and in simple places. Don't expect to much. It is a homestay and you are a guest. It is not a hotel. But when you dive into it you can have wonderful relaxing days with a lot of very beautiful people around you. There are not many things you can visit specifically on the island. But you can make good trips to philitempel or Abu sembel. And you can sit with many people on the island, you can enjoy the magic of the place and the nature. Get a kayak and see the sunset. The women who work there are very sweet and nice and the food was really nice too. I travelled a lot ant this is one of this special places I always look for.
