Right in front of Punta Carretas Mall, Regency Golf - Hotel Urbano offers self-catering rooms with a plasma TV and free WiFi access. The property features a restaurant and a gym. I really enjoyed the location (Punta Carretas), it's not close to the old downtown but it's a really good neighbourhood and the Hotel Staff are really good and they offer some good meals with discount there. I enjoyed my stay there and I recommend it.

Pocitos Plaza offers accommodation in upscale Pocitos, 5 minutes from central Montevideo and only 400 metres from the beach. Free Wi-Fi is provided, and private parking is available for a fee. We had a fabulous room, spacious, clean and with a balcony. Great shower. The gym and roof top area was nice too. A good breakfast and helpful staff.

Nice reception - especially the friendly woman from Cuba who cared a lot - and of course: the sauna, which was hard to find in Montevideo. I then booked another 6,7 nights at the reception because the hotel was really better than expected.
