Thank you! The temple is located very centrally, there are nice cafés and Izakayas in the area, we can recommend Izakaya Entaku round the corner, with delicious food and a laid-back atmosphere.

The location couldn't be more perfect. Only 2-3 min from train station. How convenient. To the interesting part of Takayama it is like 10 min of easy walk. The room was the biggest during our stay in Japan and although we were outside most of the time it was great to have it and not deal with our luggage. I advise to rent a bike for free from the reception and take a ride thru the town - that was a highlight for us. There's also option to have breakfast but we didn't use that option.

The facilities in the hotel were amazing. There was a private "onsen" (not a natural one), which you could book for 45min for a fee. (somewhere around $15). The room was clean, modern and spacious. The staff was super lovely, we felt super welcome and were able to ask anything without any problem. There was also a map in the lobby featuring all sorts of interesting places and restaurants to visit. Lastly, we had a night at the bar too, and the barman was wonderful. We had some drinks and snacks for a very reasonable price. There is also a laundry room, with 2 in 1 washing and drying machines. You can check availability from the tv in your room (or even the website/app, I believe). However, note that the drying function of the machines is not that good, so you might have to continue drying some clothes in your room.

I loved the aesthetics. the room was very modern and clean and had all the essentials, with a bath tub, washing machine, stove, and cookware. the staff were very polite and allowed us to leave our baggage before our check-in time.
