Located in the historical town of Magome, Tajimaya features Japanese-style accommodations in a 110-year old building. Each room features a flat-screen TV, and guests can relax in the public bath. Beautiful ryokan, very comfortable mattress and futon, breakfast and dinner was very delicious and beautiful arrangement, staff were very kind and attentive, excellent location for start Nakasendo trail.

The host was super friendly and very helpful, even when we had some additional requests. Thanks so much for all the help! The rooms were veeery spacious (converted classrooms). The shared toilet & shower facilities were also very clean and nice—overall the building interior felt very new.

Just 40 metres from restored Edo-era post town Magome-Juku, Chaya Hotel has simple traditional rooms with futon bedding and a tatami-mat floor. Beautiful guest house. Very clean and tidy and lovely staff. The dinner and breakfast were fabulous. Highly recommend for families
