The hotel was literally next to the train station. The subway line has an elevator so even if you have luggage, it would be easy to get on and off the train station. The property was very clean and quite spacious. It had everything in it. The location is quite good too. Close to a lot of places. Just a train ride to the Gion area. It is also pretty close to Kyoto station. You do need to transfer though, but pretty short trip. There are also a couple of restaurants around the hotel. Plus, a lawson next to the train station. Best of all, the staff are very nice and accommodating. I was able to leave my luggage before check in time.

The best hotel we've been to in Japan so far. The staff speaks English very good which helped us check in/out pretty fast. The room was incredible, the bed very large and the bathroom larger than expected. We had breakfast there and it was so good; they even prepare an omelet for you (you have to try both styles proposed). Yamashina is pretty small and quiet but there are good restaurants and a casino where you can spend your money.

The garden is old and exquisite, and while the house is traditional and quaint, it has a fully-equipped kitchen, modern toilets and comfortable baths. While it's a bit of a walk up the hill from the Misasagi subway station, the neighborhood is pretty, and there's a canal in a park. There's also a small grocery store right by the subway station, and it offers whatever a traveler might need for a decent meal or a pleasant bath.

Located just a 3-minute walk from JR Yamashina Station, Guesthouse Yamashina offers accommodation with free WiFi in Kyoto. The Japanese house setting with neat and clean rooms. Also the additional manga, books and board games were entertaining too! Everything was well arranged with proper and clear instructions about their operation. The rooms were very spacious too. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and even guided us to the guest house by a phone call.
