Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei -Age Requirement 12 over- has a fitness centre, garden, a restaurant and bar in Kyoto. Loved it all, the staff, rooms that were perfectly clean to afternoon complimentary drinks. Would recommend but it is a short bus ride to city which is absolutely no problem as bus is across road and come frequently.

Before starting the trip, tadashi-san got really involved with us and helped us with all our questions. He was really kind and helpful. His guesthouse is incredible, an authentic ryokan experience. Please if you are going to stay in Tadashi's guesthouse be polite and kind, he is a really good person and he will help you with everything. His wife Yuki-san is also lovely!

The hosts were the nicest and most welcoming people. The husband dropped us off at the train station in the morning. Room had a view ok the local temple and facilities were very clean. Calm area, nice to get away from the tourist chaos. I highly recommend this guest house.

Small touches, like the deck of uno cards in the room, and the friendliness of Jeronimo on the front desk, made Material feel like home. The bed was also the comfiest of our trip in Japan!

I loved how spacious and clean the room was, and the breakfast at the hotel was pretty good. The amenities in the hotel were adequate, as I was able to locate and use the laundry room. The bar had many different types of drinks, albeit at a relatively steep price point.

Attractively situated in the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, Tassel Hotel Sanjo Shirakawa is located 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto, 1 km from Heian Shrine and 1.3 km from Gion Shijo Station.... The breakfast was amazing, light, and delicious. The location was also great.

The resort hotel in Kyoto and offering free WiFi throughout, The Westin Miyako features indoor pool, a fitness center and spa treatments. Loved the location, the room size was large, the property was beautiful, the onsen was amazing, the gardens are lovely!
