Kamo Residences by Reflections asub Kyotos, 1,8 km kaugusel Kyoto keisripaleest. Wonderful greeting with local Mochi and a refreshing glass of champagne and green tea. We were able to check-in early at around 11:30. Thank you to the manager for her flexibility. This boutique is located by the River. Our suite had a clear view over local shrines and the river delta. Imperial Palace is 5min walking distance. Shimogamo Shrine, a 10 minute walk. Concierge booked a three day tour guide for us who took great care of us. We booked last minute and could not get good restaurant or guide reservations. Rio took care of everything. Lovely property, manager showed us other suites too, spacious and home feeling.

Kinkakuji is very close, so you could be there before being crowded. The owner is a nice and helpful guy.

Every single corner! The hotel was just perfect, I found out about it by coincidence and couldn’t not take a room and enjoy at least a day before I leave Kyoto. Beds are very comfy, excellent service, friendly staff, breath taking views, a mix of modern/ traditional Japanese design.

If you are looking for a traditional ryokan, this is the place for you. Everything from the room to the small backyard garden was perfect. Everything was clean and tidy. This one day ryokan certainly provided a much needed rest for a hectic trip and it was good to take a break from the city. Not to mention the hospitality provided by Sasaki-san and his wife which was splendid. Sasaki-san took a lot of effort and time to prepare our meals starting very early in the morning to ensure that we were filled up before we left. Both meals provided by Sasaki-san was nothing short of perfect. The meals were prepared fresh each day and very good. We highly recommend this place because of the peacefulness, experience and food. This is a good place to just rest and unwind before moving on to the next city. If you are driving, Sasaki-san will also reserved a parking space for you if you provide him an advance notice. When we come back to Kyoto once more, we will definitely take a day or two and spend it here.

It’s equipped with everything you need during the stay. I found the bike and the portable WiFi to be very useful indeed.

I had a health complications on our last day and he even took me to the clinic. He gives you a tablet that has all house appliance manuals and many sites of interest around Kyoto, including good restaurants and his recommended places and restaurants. I stayed in 4 places in Japan and this one was the best, by far. Extremely recommended, especially if you're looking for that old style Japanese house experience.

Really nice place! The owner met us at the metro station and helped with our luggage. We were also given the opportunity to rent electronic bicycles. It was a great experience to see Kyoto!
