Great hotel for a fair price. Really nice and helpful staff. Good location close to a train station and not far from the bamboo forest. The room was really clean and big with a spacious bathroom and shower. I would always choose this hotel again for a stay in Kyoto.

Riverside Arashiyama har ett perfekt läge i området Nishikyo Ward i Kyoto, 17 minuters promenad från Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, 3,5 km från Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple och 4,7 km från Katsura Rikyu. We enjoyed the location - 20 minute train ride from centre of Kyoto, walking distance to the Bamboo Forest and surrounds. We best liked that we had the town to ourselves before and after day-trippers.

I’d say this hotel is underrated. We stayed here when we visited places around/near Arashiyama so I won’t say that the location is bad. You just have to plan your trip and map it out. Staff were great, I can speak a little japanese but they can converse well in english, too. Room was great and spacious - and the sunrise view from our balcony was beyond perfect. The building is classic and well-maintained. They have a shuttle going to Saga Arashiyama station, but I don’t mind the 10-15 mins. morning walk.
