Set in a restored and enlarged antique 19th century residence, Hotel Catharina Paraguaçu offers rooms with air conditioning and cable TV. Rio Vermelho Beach is only a 10-minute walk away. This is a charming small hotel. The beautifully restored original building has five meter ceilings, the new wing is attractively designed. Lovely small courtyard with attractive plants, and two really nice open gardens in front. The neighborhood is quite lively, some good bars and restaurants, and less than a minute walk to the beach.

This was my first time staying at a hostel and I was hesitant to do it, but the service was incredible and I did not feel much difference compared to hotels. Very clean rooms and restrooms. Staff is super friendly and humble. Breakfast was fresh and very tasty with so many varieties. Location is great for anyone visiting Salvador, Bahia. I met people from all over the world, including Europe, North America, South America. I had an unexpected incident during my travel and the hostel staff including the owner (Olivier) were super helpful and assisted me in every way possible. Definitely coming back if I visit Salvador again.
