I rented a room to leave my luggage for the duration of the tour. The room was simple, aged, but clean, with a balcony. I liked the price-quality ratio, and on the next trip I took a room already for living. There are dishes, ask the reception to give a kettle to the room.

One can get a little nostalgic when talking about the development of Hua Hin. The first beachside resort town in Thailand was originally a small fishing village. It manages to maintain a laid-back atmosphere despite chain hotels invading the best vantage points along Hua Hin Beach.
The current King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej, spends much of his time here in the royal residence of Klai Kangwon Palace, built in 1927. The local Thai population have followed ever since as they escape the stifling heat of Bangkok.
Hin Lek Fai Hill provides the finest outlook of the bay and its 5 km-long stretch of beach. The central Hua Hin Night Market satisfies your wallet and your stomach with its mix of local souvenirs and freshly cooked seafood.
These days there is a distinctive cosmopolitan flair to the city with many restaurants and hotels purveying a European influence. It is also less hectic than Pattaya, the rival beach resort on the other side of the Bay of Thailand.
Hua Hin Airport has flights from Bangkok, and the wooden Thai-style train station is regarded as the prettiest in Thailand. The city has many hotels and resorts for families and couples and Booking.com can also accommodate you at the famous Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas.
The place was nothing like what we booked. We reserved a pool view unit with a living area and separate bedroom. Instead we were given a room facing outside to a construction site and the very noisy night market with a band that played loud music into the night. Towels were the cheapest possible nylon and quite dreadful, so very difficult to dry. The washing machine was filthy and unusable. And although we didn't need it, the sofa-bed there was actually just a mini chaise-lounge.
We were glad to get out of there, to be honest. I suspect they swapped the room from what we booked to a worse one. Kate - the manager - was basically non-contactable once we asked about the room.

The biggest issue in Hua Hin is that the main road where many hotels are located near the beach is about the busiest in the area. If you are driving it is necessary to go a distance before you can make a U turn. You should only cross this road at the designated pedestrian crossing, otherwise it can be dangerous.
My critique of cities in Thailand - the sidewalks are not level in many places. You really have to pick up your feet and watch where you are walking because at any moment the grading can change and you will trip; Hua Hin is no exception.
Also, at times Hua Hin can have polluted air blowing your way. However, you will not be inundated with sewage smells like many other Thai cities.
Overall though, this city is safe, the weather is manageable and it is relatively easy to navigate your way around.

There is not much cultural activities, at least that I know of apart from the very nice Ciccada Market (art, handicraft, food and music). So renting a bike or using Grab is necessary if you want to explore a bit more than central Hua Hin. So include it in your budget. The malls are 2 and 4 km away. It's a bit difficult to find good restaurants with a reasonable price, there are many cheap but so-so restaurants. The restaurants in the night market nearby clearly target the tourists : 400 bht one plate when in other ones you pay 100 bht....

I know HuaHin for almost at 20 years and it hasn’t changed staying still quite and nice comparing to other cities. The center of the city is optically not welcoming and forms a typical Thai style agglomeration townhouses systems with unfortunately growing traffic congestions.

Hua Hin is much more relaxed than Pattaya and Bangkok.
Hua Hin is much more relaxed than Pattaya and Bangkok. There are lots of bars and restaurants and the local beaches are beautiful. It's also easy to travel in land where there are amazing waterfalls and rivers with lots of activities to do.
Lovely guesthouse in a Thai neighborhood that feels just like home. Big living room and kitchen. Som is such a friendly host and was so helpful and even offered us a beach mat. She’s very humble and nice. Would stay again accept its very hard to sleep between 22:00-2:00 (10p-2a) because of the loud bass music from a nearby club that rumbles the entire neighborhood everybody night. Loved the little outdoor sitting area. And the outdoor kitchen in the house next store was cool too. Hua Hin beach is just a short 20 min walk!
The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on away from home, room spacious and stylish. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean in all areas. Restaurant for breakfast good... lunch, there was a set price menu and drink deal...evening dinner, Korean food.
The pool, gym, pool bar were on the roof. Happy hour from 5 til 7 for cocktails. The hotel had a free shuttle service to take guests to and from Hua Hin and the beach. Highly recommended, we would stay here again.
The room and the facilities were classic colonial look and feel. Bed was quite firm (we like it), and pillows were lovely.
Extremely peaceful location, at the quiet south end of Hua Hin beach.
Pool was very comfortable, and happy hour started at 4 pm, which was perfect for late afternoon enjoyment around the pool.
Breakfast was nice, and not excessive.
Parking was provided, although it was not covered, so staff put car covers on all vehicles in the parking lot - very nice.
Perfect location with private beach having no commercial activities. Peaceful and calm view. The staff was courteous and helpful. Restaurant and bar is really nice. Room was spacious and not regularly furnished like most of the hotels. Old school furniture and room style. Best part was the private rooftop available only to myself.
Oh and each room instead of a number has a name. Name of my room was monalisa.
Overall very nice vibes of the hotel.
I feel very relax in this hotel!! The breakfast is good. The dinner is good and chill with a live band performance. The beach in front of the hotel is pretty clean compare to the main Hua Hin beach. Although the location is not close to the main Hua Hin area, you can always call a good-deal taxi at the front desk. The swimming pool is the favorite of my family because we live in the room by the pool. We had a great time here.
The location is perfect in the centre of Huahin and close to beach and Market Village the main shopping centre in Hua Hin.It is an older hotel but this means it is spacious and has the benefit of very large spacious rooms and a 23.5 M pool for the keen swimmer like myself.
Breakfast is plentiful with European and Thai options and competitively priced but could offer more in terms of fresh fruit selection .
The hotel was really lovely, with a nice swimming pool and a bright and clean room with a balcony. It's in a great location, just a 2 min walk to Hua Hin beach. The staff were extremely helpful, always going out of their way to help me organise buses and day trips out to attractions. I would really recommend TH Beach Hotel, I had such a great stay there!
Absolutely everything. It’s beautiful, comfortable, super well designed, the staff is great, right next to the best beach in Hua Hin where you’ll find the best beach bar. It’s a dream of a place. Loved everything and it was the best stay in Hua Hin, which is a place that can be very disappointing if you’ve visited other parts of Thailand.
The Centara Chain is a of the best one in Thailand but this Hotel exceeded all of my expectations.
The location is the best one of Hua Hin. The staff is polite and professional, the room is super, the breakfast is good and many choice, two swimming pool, beach front.
All you want they have. Great experience!
This hotel was on the beach , and the added bonus was the gorgeous sunrise every day.... spectacular. The room was a good size .we had two pools to choose from .
Food was ok . The staff at reception were very friendly and kind . The hotel is also in a really good location, we walked everywhere.
Nice pool in front of the beach. Hotel is located in a quiet and somewhat isolated area south of Hua Hin, with parking available. Breakfast and food in general was good. As the lobby area is a few minutes (less than 5) walk from the beach, there is a buggy cart service available.
I have stayed in this hotel in the past , in my opinion one of the best hotels in hua hin , close to everything beach ,Night district ,restaurants , markets , excellent service … room always clean every day..
Hope to visit again soon for a nice long weekend in hua hin

Excellent location close to Hua Hin center, but very quiet with the very good (if not best) part of the beach. Staying in the garden villa was like staying in the tropical garden. Spacious room and bathroom. Good breakfast with sea view. I can recommend.
Fabulous hotel and real quality. Matches the other top rated hotels but at half the cost. Excellent rooms and even a coffee machine. Huge pool and separate smaller pool and facilities at beach. Superb breakfast and quality evening dining.
It is right next to the night market in Hua Hin (great location). The beach is also close by. The host, Jenny, is lovely. We traveled with 2 young kids. Our room was big enough. The optional breakfast is hearty and healthy.
The location was perfect. Away from the noise of Hua Hin centre but close enough and next to the beach with bars and restaurants within walking distance. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful.
Good budget hotel with basic furniture. Comfortable and clean, just a few minutes to walk to the great beach of Hua Hin and surrounding restaurants and massage shops. Great starting point for excursions.
Staff are friendly and very helpful.
The location is great, very close to Night Market and Hua Hin Beach. Tuktuks are available nearby as well as Songthaews.
Very clean and well decorated hotel!
