Location and historic feel. The staff was very much like old friends wanting to help. We felt like we were staying in a family guest house. This was key since we were visiting ancestral areas. The room is an apartment with great views. It was a short walk to nearly everything we wanted to visit

Breakfast was basic continental. Plenty of excellent Italian coffee. Dinner was exceptional, with products from the real farm there. Buffala, beef, mozzarella, funghi, excellent homemade pasta.
