A great location, directly opposite the sandy beach. Our room was large, airy and spotlessly clean. It had a kettle and coffee machine which were very welcome. Stelios the owner was such a friendly, welcoming host, he was very helpful and responded promptly to messages. We'll definitely stay there again next time we're down that way.

Beautiful vintage style, family-owned hotel. Location is very convenient, right next to the beach so you can actually hear the waves. It’s a bit further from the core but still walkable within minutes. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The son of the family gave us useful tips for the restaurants and things to do nearby. Thank you for everything.
Highly recommended!

Location was excellent and staff very accommodating
I love Palaiochora - have visited several times. There is a very long sandy beach on the west side of the village - the sunbeds and umbrellas do not dominate the beach due to its size. There is a nudist area at the northern end but, sadly, it looks like the cantina there is not open this year. There is also a beach on the east side but it is stony and not to my liking. In the evening a couple of streets are closed off to traffic (but not to kids cycling at top speed through the pedestrians grrr) and the roads are occupied with tables and chairs for the various bars and cafes. There are many places to eat in the village and a wide selection of menus available. Agios bar is one to visit - definitely. If staying for more than a few days a ferry trip (40 minutes or so) to Sougia is worth trying. Gialiskari is another nice beach along the coast - about an hour's walk or 15 minutes by car.

If you are looking for a small laid back beach town in Crete, this is a greatchoice. Many of the more full service touristy options are on the north side of the island, Palaiochora is on the south. You can drive from Palaichora to Chania in less than 1.5 hours : drive to Heraklion is closer to 3.5 hours.
Plenty of beaches, good food, good people. Not really a party crowd, at least when we were there at the end of the season. There are many options for boat trips, hiking and outdoor activities. Ebikes and similar are easy to rent.

Lovely relaxed seaside town - really chill atmosphere in the evenings with lots of restaurants along the sea front and in main and back streets serving great food and generous extras (bread, olives, small desserts and raki).
We enjoyed a good balance of some hiking (Aghia Irina Gorge was lovely and very quiet), hiring a car to explore the area and a couple of days of swimming, snorkelling and reading on the beach.
I expect Paleochora is heaving n high season, but in Kate September was wonderfully laid back - a few days here and a few in Chania& Rethymno was a really nice balance.
I would stay right in the town next time - lots of small studios advertised along the road from town to harbour looked nice, quiet and close to everything

Palauochora is lovely low key resort with great food and beaches. We really like the vibe of the town which is authentic and friendly. Highly recommended for 3-4 days or longer. Really like the fact that it can be easily accessed by a very efficient bus and ferry service. We’ll definitely be back

Pretty little town with a chilled vibe but still has some action. Excellent cocktail bar in the middle of town. Amazing sunrises on one side and the most stunning sunsets on the other side.
Sandy beaches for those who like that but rocky beaches on the ither side that offer great snorkelling opportunities.
Sifis Studios & Paleohora are the perfect base for a holiday in the beautiful West of Crete! The location of Sifis is right in front of the beach, around the corner of Paleohora's nightlife and perfect for tours to Loutro, Elfafonissi, Samaria Gorge... Panos and his sister who manage Sifis are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They have cooperations f.e. for the beach, so you don't have to pay extra for a beach chair and a restaurant, so you can get a great price for a breakfast menu.
It’s spotless clean, the room is big, with super comfortable mattresses and across to the beach.
Many great restaurants and an awesome bakery just steps away. I also must point out that it’s super silent and we could sleep like angels after exploring this beautiful region.
We will definitely return to Palaiochora next season and Sifis Studios is, in my opinion, the best place to stay.
Panos, the owner, is super friendly. We felt like home.
as far as we can judge best hotel in paleochora. located on the nice beach side of the city, just a few steps away from the beach, nice big parking place, restaurants, supermarket and bakery close by. staff super friendly. breakfast buffet nice. Pretty buildings, well maintained. Pool big enough and cleaned everyday. Rooms totally fine with a small balcony and kitchen part. we extended our stay for one night. thank you very much
Very pleasant place to stay. Quiet and relaxing. It was clean and the garden was very private. The hike to the beach via the wonderful Anidri gorge is just wonderful. To be that close, just a few minutes walk, to one of the absolute best tavernas in Crete, Sto Scolio, was very much appreciated.
A big thank you to the friendly hosts, Simone and Christos, who made our stay a real pleasure.
Wish we had more than one night at this awesome property. So much space, beautiful beach view, and the decor was just right – simple and nice. We really wanted more time to enjoy everything here, both the property itself and the surrounding area. Can't wait to come back!"
The hotel is brand new and the interior design is very modern. There is plenty of space, a lot of amenities like a kitchen and a coffee machine and large beds. Everything was very fresh and clean and kept in good order. Only about 100m to the beautiful beach.
Very spacious, clean and airy apartment equipped with everything someone needs, also nice toiletries provided. There is a really nice view over Palaiochora and the sea. The owners are very kind and helpful. Thank you for everything!
The hotel is conveniently located near of two sided beaches, one side pebbled and the other side sandy.
It has a very nice swimming pool as well even if we did not use it.!!
The staff were very polite and really helpful.
the host was very friendly and made our stay so enjoyable and memorable! thank you for your hospitality, we would stay here again in a heartbeat! 5 min walk to the beach and ten to the village centre.
Beautiful room in excellent position across from the beach. The bed was so comfortable and the shower room was a delight. A lovely, contemporary hotel. Stelios was welcoming and very helpful.
Very nice, clean apartments in the center of the city. 3 minutes from the sandy beach, close to restaurants and a supermarket. Very hospitable hostess. Perfect for a couple.
Nice clean apartment with great location. Friendly owner who left a couple of beers and water in the fridge. If we return to palaiochora we will stay there again.
Very friendly staff! Great location close to one of the beaches and the harbor. Can definitely recommend this place. And best of all, they have private parking.
Nice choice for accommodation in Palaiochora, staff were friendly and polite, room was being cleaned every day, beds were massive but not very comfortable.
excelent location 100m from beach
very large room equiped with everything you need
nice private pool and large terrace overlooking the sea
