We arrived @ 3:30pm half an hour before our room became available at 4pm and told to wait which was acceptable but at 3:55pm 2 x full coaches arrived. So I asked at the desk if we could check in so we didn’t have to wait behind all these arrivals ? Told our room wasn’t ready anyway and hadn’t been finished cleaning ! We had received a number of emails asking if we paid extra the room would be ready from 1pm. Half an hour later we were told can now check in but room was just being finished off by vacuuming so another 10 minutes! When we entered the room it hadn’t been vacuumed bits all over and not very clean !
Told it was due to lack of staff ! This should not be my problem I’m here on holiday ! Asked for compensation or some kind of discount on another stay with the manager and customer service but refused.
Unfortunately we will never stay with this Hotel or it’s company again extremely disappointed and very poor service. The Hotel is very run down but we did overlook this.very unprofessional to say the least !

Absolutely loved the facilities. The hot tub was great and the time slots for individual use of the pool. It was so quiet and peaceful there, you could really relax. The bed was very comfortable and a lovely bath.

The hotel was very clean & comfortable. The staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had . Great choice & obviously the best produce used . Also in a great location.

The lady with the dark hair in a ponytail was very accommodating and solved any problems I had.
There was a man behind the bar who checked us in, he was helpful too except for one occasion I'll explain later.
The view from our room was very good, we could see the beach and sea. In fact me and my daughter saw a full rainbow over the sea , got our shoes on and rushed to the beach to get a photo before the clouds came back. We just failed to make it, but it gives you an idea of how close the beach was to the hotel .
With a cliff-top location on the North Norfolk coast, this hotel has 4 acres of gardens and terraced lawns leading down to the foreshore

a Welcome break for hot food and drink .Norfolk Coast path and nice beach walks. Dark skies for star spotters , friendly locals.A relaxing visit

I wasn't in Sidestrand.
I wasn't in Sidestrand. The Shepherd's Hut is on the edge of Northrepps, which is a very nice village just inland from Overstrand. The beach at Overstrand was a fine place for a bracing walk, with the wind and high tide causing a truly dramatic sea. Sadly I missed the Clifftop Cafe after spending most of the day at Felbrigg Hall. Both are highly recommended.
