We stayed one night for my stepdad's birthday, booked two rooms.
Really well located just off the main high street in Bedale. There's a long stay car park across the road that is free of charge. A friendly welcome from the landlords and their two beautiful (one more excitable than the other) staffies who live in the bar (if you're not a dog person this place is not for you). Well stocked bar and a lovely little beer garden out back. I was particularly taken with the decorations in one of the ladies loos :)
Lovely bright rooms, really clean and welcoming. Our bathroom was massive too.
Breakfast the next morning was plentiful - fruit, cereal and yoghurt available on the bar with juices and hot drinks, with a full English cooked to order, and it's huge so you best be hungry!
All in all a lovely stay and would totally recommend.
Overlooking the Market Square in the small town of Masham, this charming inn is set within a fine Georgian building of tremendous character, built in the second half of the 18th century.

A nice village for essentials but no family type pubs for eating. most pubs etc closed for food at 7-00pm which is no good after a day out further afield or after swimming at tea time. the leisure centre was lovely, clean and reasonably priced.

Nicola and Pete who co own this establishment are fantastic. The cannot do enough for you! Pete cooks a superb breakfast and Nicola organises front of house. Ted is also a co owner and he has great customer service skills. Location is superb for W and E of N Yorkshire. The town of Bedale which is a few miles away is worth a visit. Our room was super large and superbly clean. I would highly recommend The Woodman. The menu in the pub is great and it is flexible. They also offer a varied selection of quality wines. I just cannot fault it!
The Garden Rooms are in a lovely location in rural North Yorkshire. Dave and Di are a super, genuine couple who made me feel welcome. They made it clear just to ask if there was anything that would make my stay more enjoyable, but in reality everything was covered.
The room was excellent with a VERY comfortable bed. Bathroom facilities were of the same high standard. Quality tea, coffee, pastries and a continental breakfast in my room along with the peace and quiet of the area, made my stay very enjoyable.
It was a lovely place t stay ideal for walking, biking , we love horseracing and it was a ideal base as they were equally situated. We like real ale and Exelby pub only a 10 min walk away had the perfect real ale, better than Bedale. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed. We will certainly come back and see you again, it was wonderful and will recommend it to friends.
Perfect location in the centre of the beautiful Georgian town of Bedale. On site parking. 2 minutes to the shops and a fine selection of cafes restarants and pubs.. Great selection of small shops to browse in. An ideal starting point for exploring all the Yorkshire Dales have to offer.
The room was nicely decorated and very clean. We had an evening meal which was generous and the breakfast was excellent. There was a dressing table in the room which was very handy and they had decaf Yorkshire tea on the tray as well as decaf coffee. There was a bath in the ensuite.
we stayed in this property as we were visiting the polar express experience. this hotel was initially picked for location but when we arrived we realised we had came across a wee gem . location was perfect , staff were very friendly and totally went out their way
What a lovely hotel!
Rooms were beautiful with plenty of space.
We had dinner and I must say the Chicken & Stilton pie was delicious :-)
Breakfast wasn't large but was delicious and just the right amount for me.
Staff & customers very friendly & welcoming.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, food was good, and the room ticked every box we needed. They had live music on that night and it was great, made for a very cosy and positive atmosphere in the evening. Merlin, the hotel's dog was a bonus too!
A wonderful warm welcome from Mandy at this lovely property, excellently located next to the A1, but with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales. Fabulous cooked breakfast and superb pub next door, with interesting and extensive menu
Comfy hotel, friendly staff, lovely breakfasts. As we were travelling by train and having to depend on them running, being able to cancel up until 6pm on day of arrival, made us choose this hotel.
The breakfast was substantial and good quality. The service was always fast and friendly. The Bedale area and other villages are lovely. The local people are also very friendly.
