Overall, I liked the Balcon del Mar. In my opinion, some prior reviews gave the hotel a bad rap. The rooms were clean, the pools were clean and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Note: Balcon del Mar is for families with kids. It's not for single guys who go to Jaco for the nightlife. The hotel's posted policy prohibits female visitors not listed as hotel guests on the room registration form during check-in. (No problem for female guests present during check-in who signed the room registration form.)

Right by the beach and lots of restaurants near by. A little away from the night life, it was quiet. Connie was amazing, very friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend if you’re not looking for a resort. If you’re like me and girlfriend, we are out all day doing activities, so it’s a nice place to shower and sleep. Very clean!!!
