The venue is in fact a Victorian house turned bed and breakfast. The renovation work was excellent and the rooms are very comfortable. The gardens are beautiful and it is not unusual to spot a rabbit and birds during the breakfast on the porch. The breakfast by the way is delicious and clearly cooked carefuly for each guest and not mass produced as in ordinary hotels. The staff is extremely cordial and thoughtful. The house itself is within walking distance from attractions such as the Presidio, the old mission building and the courthouse, and also near State street, where you can find trendy shops. In all, it was the best hotel in my California roadtrip from San Francisco to LA.

We enjoyed staying in the Santa Catalina cottage. It was lovely. We walked everywhere. Never even took the car out while staying there for four days. Loved the location, being near the ocean but also only a few minutes walk to town. The staff were helpful and attentive. Really, nothing to complain about, which is unusual for me!! ;)
