You can walk to some of the grocery stores and restaurants. There is so much vegetation that you barely see the other guests. The mosquitos were manageable.

We thought of it kind of like "glamping" -- you're going to spend time outside, hear some neighboring animals, and the shower water is brisk. But the family and staff are awesome and the whole place is full of beautiful, artistic touches. Maybe bring earplugs if you're a sensitive sleeper. Breakfast was lovely. The road leading in is bumpy but you are going to be fine in any rental car if you go slowly. Access to Bayahibe is super easy. We're excited to return in the future.
