Featuring a garden and views of quiet street, Casa Pau is a recently renovated country house located in Santa Maria, 200 metres from Praia António Sousa. Nice large room on the edge of town away from large resorts. Great ceiling fan (no AC) which had a consistent white noise that blocked out all noise, for a quiet great night of sleep. Well planned room with plenty of practically placed shelves and hooks to put items. The 20 euro airport pickup for our 1am checkin went smoothly. 5min walk from a small grocery and the water where you can see a great sunset. Great communication with host on WhatsApp.

Tortuga Beach Villa is situated in Santa Maria and features a private pool and pool views. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. The villa is very well situated, in a resort complex located 50 m from the beach, with all facilities in the vicinity but very quiet. The host JC (French who lives there and speaks the language), who owns the villa, is the best one I have ever encountered in my many years of travelling. Not only did he arrange for a taxi transfer from the airport, he was there at the villa to guide us around, explain things, and then took us on a tour around the main city Santa Maria, explaining where to exchange money, eat the best, shop for groceries etc. Throughout the week, he was there to help arranging for tours (we did sailing, quad, diving, kite surf), brought in some water as well, and was always reacting within a few hours on questions. Du jamais vu! The island itself is beautiful, the people are very nice, and this together with the quality of the villa and the JC service made it very special for all of us.

This is a lovely villa in a fabulous location, with its own pool as well as the use of the main hotel pools and other facilities. The beaches were beautiful and also surprisingly quiet; the sea was a bit rough sometimes but our three boys loved it - close supervision required though! The pools and sea were warm enough when we stayed. We opted to stay self catering; Andrew was very helpful with the location of the best supermarket where we stocked up on everything we needed for the villa; and he also gave us some great restaurant recommendations in Santa Maria. The hotel didn’t seem that busy even though it was Easter school holidays, though we didn’t eat in any of the hotel restaurants as there were so many great ones in Santa Maria. Taxis into Santa Maria were easily arranged when we didn’t want to make the 45 minute walk there.

Everything is as described. Private pool was the best! It is small and you can't swim but that wasn't what we needed. For us it was enough. Good place to relax and chill after sunbathing. Good contact with the owner. Fast and easy check-in. We really enjoyed our holidays!

Ohh not sure we're to start . The location is literally few minutes walk from beach. The villa it self is very comfortable and lovely. And you have your own private pool, however if you wish to enjoy bigger pool there is couple more at the complex. Lovey service from start to finish, Magdalena organise the airport pick up ( suggested taxi drivers Edi and Luis was also so helpful, we also used they service tho our holidays). She was reachable if we needed.
