Great and cosy hostel. The Babushka was the most welcoming and adorable person on the planet. She brought me some honey when I got sick and looked after me. Highly recommend it.

Jon was great, very helpful and knowledgable and keen to give guests great experiences. He brought a heater for us and made sure we had one that worked. Boss was friendly and helpful too and recommended a great place for food nearby. Grateful for a free upgrade to a room with a private bathroom on arrival.

Mountain Base ARTUCH, hotel in Panjakent

Offering a shared lounge, Mountain Base ARTUCH offers accommodation in Panjakent. Private parking is available on site. The lodge offers a vegetarian or halal breakfast.

I really had a great time in the Artuch mountain base which exceeded my expectations. I feel like a lot of the comments here didn’t do it justice but as far as mountain refuges above 2200m go this is a luxurious one in my opinion. - staff was great, Jhenia speaks fluent English and has great recommendations on what trails to take and how to make the most of your time - I slept in the cottage room which was very nice, there was hot water for shower, and all the needed amenities, I was able to fill water from the stream tap they have available - The highlight for me is definitely getting to have the beautiful mountains and lake for almost myself, I only regret not staying longer

Interesting historical sites of ancient Panjakent town and nearby excavations of 5000 year old Sarazm settlement. Everything in Panjakent within walking distance but Sarazm is a few miles out of town and a taxi would be needed for a visit there.

I didnt see much of the town in Panjikent but most people use it as a base to start a hiking trip in the Fann mountains or to travel to the seven lakes. Be careful of overpriced tours and taxis. Local transport is always significantly cheaper if you have the time.
