We stayed at this wonderful boutique hotel in February this year (2024) . It is such a find that we rebooked before leaving to return next year and bring our daughter. We checked in after midnight due to a late flight, but the hotel had given us a code for the front door and our room. There are no room keys but key code pads, very handy! The biscuits, water, and tea and coffee facilities, as well as the complementary prickly pear liquor, were most welcome. The room was spotless, and the bed was most comfortable. The hotel has a lively rooftop pool. It is off a very picturesque and peaceful square, with lots of restaurant choices. Breakfast was included, and we just had to pop across the square to the beautiful sister restaurant. Breakfast is generous and excellent quality, as well as the service. The reception staff in the hotel were so lovely and helpful.
Built on the sides of one of the valleys in Mellieha, the hotel offers exquisite views of the church, the bay, the islands of Gozo and Comino, and the village.

The staff at the reception was very nice, polite and helpful. I payed just 35 euros for a double room so for that money it was very good. The location is fine, but you need to walk like 20-30 minutes to get to the beach. The room was big and clean.

Nice rooftop pool area (we didn’t use the garden pool so can’t comment), very modern hotel and clean.
Breakfast staff were friendly. Gym facilities were better than your average hotel gym with some good pieces of equipment.
Outdoor area for breakfast when sunny which was great.
Lots of restaurant options up the road from the hotel
Solana Hotel offers modern rooms and studios with free Wi-Fi access, a 10-minute walk from the beach on Mellieha Bay. The rooftop terrace with pool is a real highlight.

The hotel was centrally located and it was stylish and clean. There was a wonderful view from the roof terrace. The staff was lovely, the breakfast was really good and the hotel had good services. The room was also clean and nice and we had a really big balcony with sun beds and a little bit sea view.

The staff were all welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean and so was the rest of the hotel, even the outside dining areas. As we were there celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, we were also offered a cake and made especially for his dietry requirements.
We had room service, food was good and dined at the Agliolio Restaurant were the staff were friendly and the food was delicious.
A stay I would definitely recommend.

Love the area, great restaurants (Wagu was our favourite). Theres so much to see and do without the hustle of tourists. Took a 10 min taxi to Golden Bay beach for a hike, you are pretty central to everything. Lovely shops and definitely take a stroll to Sea View Cafe, stunning views with good food and a happy hour.

It’s a quiet town with a reasonable amount of pubs and restaurants. It’s a good base to stay but we went to different places each day. There isn’t enough to keep you busy for a full week if you like to do things on holidays.

We went in the off season (mid April) so the area was quiet and it was easy to get a restaurant, although on the other hand many restaurants were very dead with only 1 or 2 groups inside. The weather was good although very windy, good enough to sit on the beach but not sunbathe or swim. The town was very pretty, it's nice to take a walk up the hill and see the views and older buildings.
We would recommend Blu Club, Amami, and the mellieha heights area at the top of the hill.

Mellieha is a beautiful calm and small town which makes it perfect if you want to avoid crowded cities with a lot of traffic and mass tourism. Climb up the hill and you'll have a fantastic sight onto the bay nearby. the upper town has also beautiful narrow streets and typical houses to see. Not that easy to travel in Malta in general, due to some public transport issues. If I went again, I would avoid long displacements across the island, I would just visit the places nearby. If you are in the northern part and want to have a dayout to the southern Malta, it make take you 4-5 hours go/back with public transport. To avoid the stress and the frustration, stay and visit the places nearby. It's a good excuse to go again and visit the places you missed before!!

Labrsnda Hotel is outside of Mellieha Bay, very vl9se to the ferry port to Gozo; and there are no restaurants or bars nearby. So full board is recommended unless you get a bus, vtaxi or walk to Mellieha Bay which is bustling and it has a lovely sandy beach.
Please note that now on HB, no drinks are included. They were in 2023: local beer, wine and water. We stayed in March 2023 on HB and booked again for March 24; but were not informed of these changes until the first night at dinner when we received a drinks bill.
The green room compensation scheme has also changed: no 'free' ocktails per day per room. Seems to have been a change over "free" alcohol options (although you could've opted for a mocktail previously.)
Drinks are now only available on fully inclusive. However, at the time if booking for us via booking. Com , no all incl was available; neither were we offered an upgrade at reception upon checking in; nor a change in their HB services. So, a cautionary note when booking.

Mellieha is a small town with not a lot to do or see except the supurb WW2 tunnels used as air raid shelters. Also a couple of churches. The Christmas market was on in the square when we were there, which was interesting.
The bus network is fabulous and it is easy to get to anywhere on the island or to the ferry port for Gozo. I recomment the Talinja card for discounted travel.
The apartment is spacious and clean. Communication with the owner was quick and easy. If you want to explore Malta by bus, the bus stop is 5 minutes on foot from the apartment. There was a moka pot in the kitchen so we were able to enjoy coffee on the balcony in the morning, with a view over the Gozo island. Wifi and a washing machine were available and a lot of kitchen appliances were found in the apartment. An A/C machine is installed in the double-bed room but it's working only with coins.
Great room with an amazing view of the sea & pool area - very spacious & clean, with daily housekeeping. The food was good with plenty of choice for breakfast & evening meal. All staff seemed to work hard & were always friendly & helpful. Hotel is right next to the ferry terminal for Gozo & you can get trips to the Blue Lagoon from there. Buses stop right outside so there's easy access to other parts of Malta including Valletta & Mdina. Hotel had a nice feel & we enjoyed our stay.
Everything about the hotel itself was very pleasant. The two pools, sauna and gym were small, but nice. Our room was very large & even had small kitchen facilities, though we only used the fridge. The view from the roof pool was very nice - not so good from lower floors, but you have to expect this as in Malta towns the streets are very narrow & buildings very close together. Good selection of very nearby restaurants if you don't want to dine in the hotel.
The bungalows design is thought through nicely, the rooms are big and located on different sides of the building, so the sound doesn't travel from room to room easily.
The kitchen is fully equipped for the comfortable stay, there was really everything needed for cooking.
Huge hotel territory, a lot of benches on the way, good for an easy evening walk.
The hotel has private tunnel to the beach, it's very nice shortcut to avoid crossing the road with child.
Perfect location for stay in Malta but I recommend renting a car for exploring island, bus I think is not an option. Staff is perfect and very polite. I also recommend sea view, a bit more expensive but really worthy because is perfect. Breakfast is also rich and tasty. Inside pool great also. Near the hotel is a restaurant (apple something) that is with normal prices if you dont have all inclusive hotel...i recommend rabbit, very good!
The location was excellent! It was very close to the bus route, and shops/restaurants. The room itself was spacious, and very clean and modern. Having the indoor pool, gym, sauna was great when it was raining. The outdoor pool and cave bar was fantastic-the view! The staff was so friendly and helpful, especially the staff at the reception. Having luggage storage was very convenient for my last day. Great hotel!
A very nice, clean, and comfy apartment. It has all the equipment to feel like home while in Malta. The hosts & staff are super-nice, kind, and easy to communicate with. Also, Mellieħa and the apartment's location inside Mellieħa is top choice — we wouldn't want to be anywhere else and you can easily reach the rest of Malta and Gozo from there, without having to deal with the madness of the capital city.
Good and big hotel, a bit outdated but clean and well-kept. Quite busy during the season. Very close to the beach. Breakfast is good, many options. Bus station is a couple steps away. Recommended. The only thing - far from the center. But this is Malta - all good beaches are far from it. You want a beach - you choose to stay far from the party places and in reverse.
Fantastic location on the bay. Large rooms. Rooms facing north are more interesting to watch the ferry traffic but are sometimes noisy. Swimming in front and in back and in multiple swimming pools. Dinner buffet with wine and beer on tap. Many items. Very tasty options in restaurant across the street. On a bus to many locations. Tickets available in the hotel.
The hotel is so classy. beautiful decorated. the indoor pool and steam room are a must especially winter time. we had a great stay, all the staff we meet were adorable friendly. 100% recommend this place. as well if you are wondering where to Stay when in Malta I totally recommend Melliehna. We stayed in 3 different villages but preferred Mellieha
The location is ideal for seeing Malta,Comino and Gozo. This hotel caters for people who come by car or rent a car. Parking is free of charge and ample space is available. The choice of food is very good. There are 3 restaurants on the premises and those who like to stay on the resort can book all inclusive and enjoy the animation program.
The location is quite good and convenient for travel. The bus stop is 1 minute away. Cleanliness is at an excellent level. The staff is kind and courteous.
I chose this hotel mainly because of the view. This is the most beautiful view in Malta. Gozo and Comino are visible.
The Suite was lovely, spacious, well furnished, beautiful views, the full package. Staff was fantastic, very helpful. The sea views were breathtaking, and the location was ideal, with the Golden Bay accessible from the hotel. Great value for money.
Good breakfast
It has a SPA, but it is paid and you can use it even if you are not staying at the hotel.
Swimming pool - but all hotels in Malta have a swimming pool.
In short: not worth the amount paid, this is not a 4 star hotel at all.
Beautiful hotel, amazing breakfast with various options (I think it was the best one I ever had).
Clean indoor pool with warm water.
The bus station is nearby (you have direct bus X1 to airport) and you have a lot of options to eat nearby.
Amazing place with a very nice view and pool. The hotel was close to the restaurants and just 15 mins walk from the beach (2-3 mins by car). Our stay in Malta was lovely and we will definitely plan another trip there in the near future.
Mario is an exceptional host, very helpful with anything you need or ask. The apartment was clean, it is spacious, it has air-conditioning and everything you need. Mario even provided us with socket adapters(Malta has UK socket type).
Everything was perfect with this hotel..many option of foods ..the staff are friendly..hotel location bit far from the capital but there is many buss in every 15 minuts and only with 2 euro you can reach the capital of Malta.
