Beautiful location not far from the ring road. Convenient parking right in front of the guesthouse. Stayed in a spacious 2nd floor room with 3 beds plus a day bed/couch and private bathroom. A quiet nights stay. The included breakfast was amazing! Big selection of food to suit anyone's taste I imagine. Enjoyed a walk down the road first thing in the morning to do a little birding.
This hotel is located on a farm in Steig, 3.1 mi from Dyrhólaey Cliffs. It offers a TV lounge, plus traditional Icelandic food in the restaurant. Hótel Búrfell rooms are decorated in light tones.

The location - all the attractions of the south were very close, and the light pollution wasn’t too bad.

Self contained apartment with large foyer, two large bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. Loved the little boot heater/dryer. View was fantastic. Menus of local restaurants in foyer. Bathroom had heated towel racks.
Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse is a cozy and lovely country house. We asked to give us a room with a mountain view, and the very friendly host gave us a room with beautiful windows with soothing views. We also had dinner there and every course was delicious and homemade. Same with the good and plentiful breakfast. At night we saw our first Northern Lights in Iceland and this place will remain in our hearts for that. For me it is a 10.
The staff was super nice. We really appreciated that there is a possibility to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant, as the location is, honestly, pretty much in the middle of nowhere (this is not a con, we were looking for that kind of place!). The room was clean and comfortable for the two of us. The location was ideal for visiting the black sand beach, as you can be there before the crowds start arriving.
We had a Great stay in Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse. The room was nice and clean. Timeless atmosphere and good position close to Reynisfjara Beach. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, both very good and rich with local products (they have animals and Vegetable in the farm). The staff was friendly and helpful (the owner speaks italian perfectly 😉). The best stay in our trip! Really recommended!
Always wanted to stay at a place like this. Perfect location, out of nowhere, dreamy farmhouse vibe but it is actually fully functioning farm/ hotel/restaurant! Loved the goats sound to wake me up in the morning and two lovely dogs my daughter loved to hang out with. It just adds so much to beautiful Iceland trip. I’ll only stay at guesthouses if I ever return to Iceland again.
I'd say this was the best place we stayed while in Iceland. The staff was great- kind and accommodating.
We stayed in the guest house with a common area which was a nice change of pace. It was homey and had lots of information about Iceland, board games, and a little kitchenette.
The complimentary breakfast was good and some homemade items included.
We enjoyed our stay at Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse. The breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and big enough for us and our luggage. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided each day. Towels, linen and a 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash were provided. You could adjust the room and washroom heating to a temperature you desired.
Last minute accommodation due to Iceland's storms.
Very comfortable and well equipped.
Roos on the guest house have access to a common room and kitchenette.
Great to have a private ensuite.
Room was well equipped with a comfortable lounge chair and table.
Breakfast was superb.
Setting of the guest house is gorgeous, even in the snow drifts
Beautiful place. Remote but yet close to Vik. Good base to explore other places like Skaftafell, Jokusarlon...
Comfortable rooms. Very clean. Although the bathrooms were shared, it didn't feel shared at all. The staff were friendly and the dinner was just yum!
Highly recommend. We miss this place already!
Great setting. Especially liked the greenhouse sitting area among the fragrant petunias. Nice planting with cascades of nasturtiums on the stairs. Delicious food. Really convenient to the waterfalls, the ferry to the Westman islands and Vik harbor with black sand beaches.
We liked the location on the south coast of Iceland. It was between places that we were planning to visit. Our room was very spacious and we had a great view of the farm. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm.
