The Grand Atlantic Hotel, hotel in Weston-super-Mare

The Grand Atlantic Hotel is an elegant Victorian hotel that is set on the Weston-Super-Mare seafront.

My new favourite hotel in Weston. The young man on check in and all staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was lovely as always. Clean comfortable room and quiet at night unlike most hotels around the area. Will make this my regular.

Hotel requires refurbishment. Rooms were dull. On entering the hotel, there was a foul smell near the lift. No bathroom washbasin mixture is available. Closet ceiling light was not working. Don't like advertisement done on coffee mugs. Seemed like I was having coffee in some donated cups. Good Breakfast was fairly good Staff was courteous and well mannered.

I am 71 and came from Bristol. Sunday school outings always went to Weston. My parents and brother all ended up living at Carlton Mansions next door to the Grand Atlantic. I love returning to Weston and spending time on the beach.

Weston super Mare is an old fashioned seaside resort trying hard to keep itself attractive. The renovated pier has offers amusements and cafes and the derelict old pier adds character. There is a sandy beach but at low tide there is a lot of mud between that and the sea. The marine pool is interesting. There is pleasant walking on the nearby headlands Worlebury to the north and Brean Down, a short drive to the south. There are plenty of places to eat - we went to a great Italian place called Il Michelangelo.

    Great.

Great. This has to be possibly the best family seaside holiday destination . So many other seaside resorts have sadly gone downhill ,but not so Weston the beach and promenade are a real credit to the local council, its services and employees. Weston super mare has everything a family could want for a great holiday experience.

I was on a walking holiday and was using Weston as my base. If you enjoy walking then the walk from Weston to Uphill and then through the nature reserve to Brean. Down onto the beach at Brean and you can walk through to Burnham on Sea. Lovely walk. The nature reserve is well worth a visit. Lots of wildlife and plenty of space for a picnic. There is also a cafe and toilets there. Uphill is a pretty little village.

Old school B&B perfect for pre-breakfast seafront walks followed by a generous cooked breakfast. If you are looking to rekindle your childhood, this is the spot. The location is a lovely walk along the seafront and far enough from the centre that you can simply enjoy the sound of the sea. The staff are all incredibly friendly. Lots of the guests during my stay had mobility issues, obviously check with the hotel before you stay, but it seems that they are well prepared in terms of access and parking was available directly in front.

The location is right on the main seafront and very near to the main action. It's a bright and cheery hotel and the staff are helpful. There is a lift in the hotel which helps to move your luggage to the floor you need a lot more easily than some hotels without one. The room was spacious and had a good bed - we slept well! From the doorway you can see the windsurfers whizzing by and on clear evenings the most spectacular sunsets (see my picture of one).

Very helpful and courteous staff who were always on hand if needed. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the public rooms were well furnished and welcoming. Breakfast was good and the hotel is in walking distance of the shops, the seafront and other amenities. Free parking was available both off and on road. Should we return to Weston we would book again.
