Staff when we arrived very friendly and bar staff service was really good.
Totally different in the morning although they were pleasant enough.
Not much car parking on site but there's a few long stay carports around which are free and within a 5 minute walk.
Boasting garden views, No.24 features accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 26 km from Tatton Park.

The View is in a very central location of Sandbach, easy access to everywhere.
The town is well kept, pretty, with some oldie worldly buildings and cobbles in main street and square. Flower boxes everywhere. Plenty of character in the heart of Sandbach.

We have stayed at Bears Head a few times and overall it has been a pleasant stay and the breakfast was very good. The walkways are grimy and the rooms need some TLC, They were to be refurbished. Delayed for various reasons but now planned for September 2023.
However this stay 23 August 23, the cleanliness was rock bottom with the pillows ( no pillow protectors) just yellow stains all over the pillows and they smelt horrible and the two chairs hadn't been cleaned in years

Have stayed at this hotel 3 times now.
Have stayed at this hotel 3 times now. A good location for access to places of interest. As well as Sandbach there are other attractive small towns locally. Very good Farm activity child friendly attractions nearby, Wheelock Hall farm was excellent. Jodrell Bank observatory is great for a good family day out. Hotel is within easy reach of Knutsford and Tatton Park. There’s a train station with parking in Holmes Chapel to get into Manchester easily. Overall a very good location.

We got there just before they closed due to a late running of a ferry from the Isle of Man, so sadly we could not sample their food and as we did not have breakfast either we couldn't sample that either. The beds, though, were excellent and we both 'slept like a log' !! The staff, too, were really helpful and did an excellent job - WELL DONE to them as well!!
Disliked · Other people staying at the hotel could have been told to be quieter when moving about in the early morning as they woke me up when I was still very tired. Other than that, everything was great.

The accommodation is just right if you’re using it as a base from which to explore the area or visit family, as I was. Very peaceful at night, the bed was very comfortable and linen spotlessly clean; I slept so well!! Then I had a gorgeous hot power shower in the morning to wake me up! Car parking is excellent as is the night access if you’re having a late night as I did!! Breakfast is not included but is inexpensive and was very substantial - I didn’t need lunch! The friendly and caring bar & cleaning staff all deserve a mention too, thank you all of you.
The Bear's Head is a lovely character hotel with restaurant. Rooms and bathrooms are decorated to a high standard and the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. We didn't have a meal but the menu looked very inviting and the restaurant was obviously popular with locals. The hotel is very well located for travellers who are driving up and down the M6 but it's in a peaceful countryside location which is an extra bonus.
Value for money, location close to Sandbach market town, size of accommodation, open plan dining area, plenty of parking of street
The host's attention to detail was impeccable, providing thoughtful amenities and a spotlessly clean environment. The seamless check-in process and the host's responsiveness added to the overall exceptional experience, making it a highly recommendable stay for anyone seeking comfort and hospitality.
We weren't expecting such a bustling, welcoming hotel and restaurant. The staff were very attentive and totally knew what they were doing and were in synch with each other. We had a nice meal in the restaurant. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast was very nice and a staff member went out of his way to find me a charger for my phone which was a life saver! We enjoyed our short stay! Thanks!
Room reasonably spacious. Very good bathroom and double shower (rain and rose head) with plenty of room. English breakfast (extra) very filling- you will not want a light lunch afterwards. Location excellent for M6 motorway and Sandbach.
Not sure about good value for money. £196 for two nights for two without breakfast was slightly over the top. £175 with breakfast included would have been more acceptable.
Myself and a colleague travelled from York to Cheshire for a business meeting and found this little gem. We had the house to ourselves which was great to work from after our meeting rather than a hotel and was far more relaxing!
Beautifully furnished house, super comfy beds, clean and spacious. I noticed they accept pets so I'll definitely be back for both business and leisure - thank you
Another really enjoyable stay at the Bears Head. It is ideally located for the M8 and its proximity to Holmes Chapel means that you have a range of dinging options for a longer stay. That said, the hotel has a great restaurant and is well utilized by both locals and residents. Staff are really friendly, accommodating and helpful and staying there is a real pleasure.
See you again soon.
Staff were friendly and attentive even with the extra Covid difficulties and running around for us.. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was central and easy to find. Car park is not at the side of the hotel but at the back, ( needs better signs) but when we found it there was enough space for us , and a free car park in a hotel is rare so a good point for travellers.
I booked the hotel for my bridal party and family for the two nights, one before and one after my wedding. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they were attentive and helpful with every request I made, even the most last minute ones. I highly recommend booking a stay with the wheatsheaf, especially if you have a special occasion to celebrate.
Lovely apartment. Clean, spacious and very well presented! Great location - would definitely stay again when we’re back in Sandbach visiting family! Only one thing was missing for me personally and that was a hair dryer (but I guess you can pack your own) but not always ideal when trying to pick light for a weekend trip.
There are lots of choices for foods and drinks. We found their foods not only delicious but also of "American" sizes! Compared with the lunch we had at the Italian restaurant on the other side of the street, the dinner in the hotel is much better for money! We will definitely return!
Perfectly, located hotel. Very close to motorway and the town of Sandbach. Whilst being close to the motorway you do not hear any traffic noise at all. The staff were polite and friendly. They were also very helpful and were happy to arrange anything that was needed.
Helpful staff, a couple of minor things went wrong (eg room key failed on second day coffee machine didn't work at first) but they fix them attentively and quickly which is always a sign of a good hotel. Food was, as usual, of a very high standard.
We loved how perfect this place was for our family: the toys and books for the kids and the garden were ideal. The location is gorgeous, beside the fishing lakes. Peaceful, but also ideally located for lots of Cheshire attractions.
Did not stop for breakfast as i left early next morning, The accommodation was ideal for me as i was meeting some friends in Sandbach, I would stay there again if in that area
