Reception was eventually fine but there was noone present when we arrived. The hotel was tired and our potentially pleasant room needed redecoration.

The staff at reception were efficient and friendly even though the hotel was full and they were very busy. Our room was on the eighth floor and there was an express lift, I had requested a sea view and a balcony, when booking and that is what we were given, we were very pleased. Our room was spotless, had a lovely dressing table with a decent mirror and electrical sockets, plenty of wardrobe space and drawers for our clothes too. A little table and two chairs, a fridge and bottles of water were also provided, we did not expect those extras. Amazing for the price we paid.

Lovely central location with something for everyone.
Lovely central location with something for everyone.
Lovely walks as a whole family.
A good range of shops, restaurants, pubs and bars.
Canterbury was 20-30 minute drive away which was lovely as we went on a boat tour and saw the stunning cathedral.
We were able to get to mist places on foot and there was a lot to do.
Parks, beach, harbor arm, cinema, shops and lots of lovely sights.
We had a lovely Greek dinner on the harbor arm, however, it was quite expensive. We had a chicken gyros, a lamb one, a chicken gyros bowl, chips and some hummus with pitta and it was £60.

It wasn't my first choice (I was catching the channel ferry and I would have preferred to have been in Dover) but what a pleasant surprise. I was travelling with my dog and I was amazed at how dog friendly the town was. I particularly liked the coastal walks and I enjoyed reading the informational plaques around the town. One thing I found so touching was Remembrance Road adorned with the handmade poppies. I was struck by how much effort the council has devoted to highlighting Folkestone's attractions and making them accessible to visitors. I enjoyed just wandering around the town with my dog and appreciating it's history and sights. Folkestone turned out to be a serendipitous experience and I'm glad that I didn't stay in Dover.

We stayed in hythe. It was beautiful.
We stayed in hythe. It was beautiful. Lower leas coastal park was great for adults and children. We visited broknell Park which was a lovely walk. The town in hythe was worth the visit with boutique shops.
Friendly down to earth staff. The hotel bar is a chilled place to enjoy a leisurely evening drink.
Folkestone is only a ten minute bus ride away, with a bus stop right outside the hotel. Saves using the car, and allows a drink or two if dining out!
Our room was quite adequate, with a super comfy superking bed. Although on a busy through route traffic was calm at night and did not disturb sleep.
We will return!!
Love the atmosphere. Rooms were clean and the team was helpful. Dinner was very nice (it was in a different room because our dog was not allowed in the restaurant but it was well arranged). Hotel is located just next to the beach so a great area for a walk. Everything was great.
I have been a hotelier for 35 years ideal, location for an event at the folkestone sports centre tho visitors are mainly overnight stayers usiing the channel tunnel.ideal place to rest before travelling on.A quiet and peaceful area.great value and superb breakfast.
Thank you, I liked the hotel, the location eg within minutes walking distance of Folkstone Cetral train station, and the room comfort levels and private facilities; fantastic for a solo traveller, and a part time student as I had some space to read and study.
Good hotel located near the cliffs/beaches of Folkestone. About a 20 minute walk along the coastal promenade to the town centre. Comfortable bed and rooms, good shower. Used as an overnight stop before onward travel by ferry from Dover to France.
From day one of arrival the area looked beautiful and the people also seemed very friendly. Never been folkestone before but will definitely be going back with missus and my daughter. Hotel owner where lovely and welcoming throughout our stay 👌
The hotel serves really exceptional breakfast, has excellent location with plenty of parking spots nearby.
The staff is nice and helpful. The queen bed exceeds expectations in terms of size and comfort and the view was fascinating!
WE will have stayed 3 times in the space of 2 months.Have stopped for 3 day stays in the balcony rooms loved it and keep going back for more.We have stopped in many dearer hotels in Folkestone but liked the Southcliffe the best.
For a pair of weary cyclists on a tour of Kent, the staff couldn't have been anymore helpful. Nice building in a quiet but handy part of Folkestone. The signature cocktails went down very well at the end of the evening
This hotel was a lovely find & perfectly located to visit Folkestone (which we'd never visited before - wish we had been there longer?) The restaurant was excellent & the staff very friendly & helpful - we will be back!
Ideal location for the Eurotunnel and a bus stops near the hotel which takes you into Folkestone. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the drinks were reasonable. Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff.
The staff here were excellent. I brought my dog with me and he got so much attention! On check in he was given treats and we could even bring him with us to eat dinner. Perfect hotel for pet-parents.
The room was quiet and well located with balcony and seaview. Reception staff were very helpful and informative. Hotel was close to shops, cafes, bus station. Lots to see and do in Folkestone.
