The location was perfect for hiking in and around the area. The staff, the room, the evening meal and breakfast were all exceptional! Amazing value for money. The building itself with the backdrop of the mountains was truly breathtaking. Highly recommended. Will definitely be going back.

The house keeper who was there during my stay was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I also briefly met the owner who was also very nice. The view here is absolutely incredible and nature is on the doorstep I was looking for some peace and to be immersed in nature for my stay in Buttermere and staying here gave me that. There is also a private entrance to the lake which is nice. It’s a ten minute walk to the village from here. They include a hearty breakfast if you want it. The room had everything I needed. Buttermere itself is so peaceful and beautiful and though a small place there is so much to explore I feel I only scratched the surface on this stay. There’s a lot to explore I walked a lot and swam! I recommend and would return for some peace if I need it.

Stunning property. Very clean and central to shops and bars. Nothing negative to say about the Tithebarn. Not having to worry about a room card was a bonus. Lovely touch attending the cafe for breakfast which was also faultless Veeva. Excelling communication. Didn’t have to chance up anything. Parking included very short walk was good too.

The breakfast was exceptional. All the cooked ingredients were premium quality and the fruit salad was delicious. The hosts were very helpful arranging extra parking with the nearby bowling green. Room decor reflected a bistro hotel standard.

A stunning location with gorgeous views, accessible and really close to main roads. Gorgeous grounds, even spotted a peacock strutting across the front lawn! The staff were so kind and super accommodating. They had a specific dining room I could take me dog in, and specific rooms I could book and bring my dog to. The staff were really helpful, the food was lovely, and it was a shame I had to rush off and leave half of my wonderful breakfast behind! Highly recommend!
