Fantastic location close to Niaux caves. Room was great with fabulous view. Bathroom was exceptional.
Great restaurant. Included buffet style breakfast was extremely generous and well presented, with local produce.

Easy to find, nice restaurant and bar, really lovely staff. We chose to stay in this town particularly for a family function, but Tarascon seems pretty enoughand well connected by if you wanted to visit a few bits of the Ariège in one trip . Seemed well priced compared to the three other hotels in the town and rooms were fine, clean and with good recently re-done bathrooms. The restaurant looks right on to the river Ariege and is lovely gif breakfast in the morning.

The staff and hotel were great. The restaurant’s food was not, but not a problem you can go somewhere else to go eat. Le Don John is great!

AVOID. They agreed to cancel my reservation when I couldn't arrive before their reception closed (it was actually still open with people checking in when I went past so they were lying). Having cancelled my reservation, they then fraudulently charged my card.

We were met by Melissa, our host, upon arrival and shown the features of the accommodation. This was appreciated.
There were so many things to like about the newish apartment. It was spotlessly clean, well designed and packed with items to ensure guests had an enjoyable stay.
The bathroom was a pleasure to use and the combined upstairs living area/bedroom spacious and comfortable.
The facilities in the kitchen were great and would definitely make a longer stay pleasurable. There was a good sized fridge, gas hotplate, microwave, stove, kettle, toaster, coffee machines, etc, etc and cutlery and crockery for six people. Spare supplies for cleaning were left under the sink. Many little features were noted, such as plants and room deodorisers. Parking on site was easy.
This was our third time visiting and staying in the area and we were impressed with the apartment. We hope to return next year but will try to stay longer to see many of the sites we didn't have time to revisit and to make full use of the excellent facilities.
The best part of my stay in Niaux was having the opportunity...
The best part of my stay in Niaux was having the opportunity to see the paintings of the Magdalenian people. I would love to spend more time in prehistoric caves. The people and the place are very spirited. The local area is overwhelmingly beautiful and full of history. It has been for me an experience of a lifetime. When booking a room in an 'Auberge' be sure to arrive at the time you estimated so as to not keep the host waiting on location. If you are going to be delayed, give the host a courtesy call. It is a good size 'Auberge' with a renowned restaurant but I would advise that you also call the 'Auberge' before booking online to confirm the availability of a room. This location has seen many interesting people over the years and if you are lucky you might get to hear a great story or two from the host over breakfast.
