The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live.
The tax heaven on Switzerland. Quiet nice place to live. For tourism? Give me a break, it's country side. Outdoor activities, walking and enjoying big lake (Zugersee).
But not really a tourist place. If you don't have business to do there, try in example Luzern and for city holidays Zurich.

Zug is very nice and amazing city, located at the beautiful lake Zugersee.
I recommend following restaurants:
Chez Ladur, Juanitos, Puccini, Zeno's and Sihlmatt in Menzingen.
Transport in Zug is easy, but you can reach interesting place in a short time just walking.

My wife and I both enjoyed the lakefront as well as the restaurants that are to be found in that area. The sunset on a clear summer night as one wound look across the water to the alps is among the most beautiful in the world. Located between Zurich and Luzern, Zug provides easy access to both.

This is my birthplace, a tax haven and therefore full of foreign companies who have their postboxes and offices here. You hear more English than Swiss German, but it still has a very Swiss feel about it. Lovely location on the lake, with a small old town, some excellent shops, 2 or 3 nice cafes (one where Audrey Hepburn used to eat Zuger Kirschtorte), and fantastic views onto the Rigi and beyond - the Alps. Lots of opportunities to take walks through fields and forests, go for swims in the lake, excellent public transport. Easy and quick to reach Lucerne, Zurich, Schwyz etc. You can also take the bus up to Unter- and Oberägeri, with a smaller, but very attractive lake, and lovely views over Lake Zug on the way.

Zug is a very cosmopolitan town between Zurich and Luzern, basically a business town but with a lovely old town and beautiful lake, If you have the time, visit Rigi mountain, with spectacular views or take a ferry round the lake and have lunch on the boat.
In winter, take in an ice hokey game or ice skate on the rink outside.

We loved Zug, such a beautiful town with the lake and old city and mountains. Easy to get around, just very expensive for Australians. We would have loved more time there had we been able to afford it.
The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning, with views of the lake and a 2-minute walk to the water. The staff were all very friendly and in particular those on the front desk were extremely helpful.
The breakfast was excellent, I highly recommend the scrambled eggs made to order!
I was fortunate to be travelling for work on this trip and staying at the Hotel Löwen am See made my first trip to Switzerland a memorable one.
Compared to Swiss standards, this place is a good value for the money. Touristically, the area is not very exciting (some churches and cows nearby, that's all), but it is a good starting point for the wider area (like Zug, in my case). Excellent bus and train transportation, right in front of the hotel. Simple and quiet room, perfectly clean, the staff was very friendly and polite.
Very clean and fresh hotel and very good order on everything. The breakfast was better than expected with really tasty fresh bread but also yoghurts, egg and bacon and good coffee. It was very warm at my stay but it was a fan in the room which “made my night”.
The hotel had a good parking and was about 10 minutes walk from Baar train station if you like to go to Zug old town.
A truly delightful experience in a magical location, the hotel has been painstakingly restored in exquisite detail and is an absolute triumph. The owner couldn’t be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble and his Italian heritage reflected in his very personable service. A genuinely pleasurable experience that I very much look forward to repeating, bravo! ❤️
The hostel is close to the train stations Zug and Zug-Schutzengel so that one can easily walk. It is also close to lake Zugersee with a nearby little (grass) beach.
The hostel is clean and the staff friendly. The food is also good, with tasty vegetarian and vegan options.
Children can play in the backyard.
The breakfast was superb. The best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The smoked salmon, local cheeses, and cured meats were divine. The furnishings and finish of the room was humble and luxurious at the same time. The wooden aesthetic was perfect. Staff was exceptionally friendly.
Not in tourist area, a little bit more walk from Zug station, but it is ok for 10 minutes walking. All staff are very nice and kind to support. The breakfast is really nice with different choices. Strongly recommended to stay there.
We stayed 2 nights in hotel. Location is center of the Zug. Hotel was very clean, comfortable. Breakfast was the best. They accept bitcoin. Its expensive but here is Switzerland and everything is pricey if you are from abroad.
Throughout the stay the staff were polite, friendly, very helpful and very efficient. Breakfasts (only meal taken in the hotel) were good with a good selection of cereals, fruit and eggs, if you required, all in a lovely room.
I highly recommend staying here! The apartment is well located, large, and comfortable. We really enjoyed the large balcony and being able to do laundry as needed. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Zug.
Everything in the hotel was perfect, Specially Mr. Willy Graf he welcomed us in a very nice way , Also he was very helpful and he supported us in our trip. I recommend everyone to visit and stay in the hotel 🙏
Great location. 10 mins walk to Zug station. Kitchen equipped with everything you need including fridge/freezer to prep own breakfast. Good shower strength.
